Intolerance In Academia Of The USA

If you need an accurate update on some of the madness at the nation’s institutions of higher learning, check out Minding the Campus, a nonprofit independent organization. John Leo, its editor in chief, says that the organization’s prime mission is dedicated to the revival of intellectual pluralism and the best traditions of liberal education at America’s colleges and universities. Leo’s most recent compilation of campus madness leaves one nearly breathless.

In a USA Today op-ed, Emily Walton, a sociology professor at Dartmouth University, said that all college students should take a mandatory course on black history and white privilege. She says that by taking her class, white students “come to understand that being a good person does not make them innocent but rather they, too, are implicated in a system of racial dominance.” Walton adds, “After spending their young lives in a condition of ‘white blindness,’ that is, the inability to see their own racial privilege, they begin to awaken to the notion that racism has systematically kept others down while benefiting them and other white people.” This is inculcating guilt based on skin color. These young white kids had nothing to do with slavery, Jim Crow or other horrible racial discriminatory acts. If one believes in individual responsibility, he should find the indoctrination by Walton offensive. To top it off, she equates the meritocratic system of hard work with white discrimination against minorities.

If you thought integration was in, check out the University of Nevada. Based on a report in the College Fix, John Leo describes how integration on that campus is actively discouraged — and at taxpayer expense. The university provides separate dorms for different identities including Howell Town for black students, Stonewall Suites for LGBTQ students, the women-only housing of Tonopah community, the Healthy Living Floor for tofu and kale lovers and study-intensive floors for those who want to graduate.

According to a New York Post report, New York City school administrators have been taught that pillars of Western Civilization such as objectivity, individualism and belief in the written word all are examples of white supremacy. All school principals, district office administrators and superintendent teams were required to attend the anti-white supremacy training put on by the city Department of Education’s Office of Equity and Access. They learn that a belief in an “ultimate truth” (objectivity) leads to a dismissal of “alternate viewpoints or emotions” as “bad” and that an emphasis on the written word overlooks the “ability to relate to others” and leads to “teaching that there is only ‘one right way’ to do something.” Administrators learn that other “hallmarks” of white supremacy include a “sense of urgency,” “quantity over quality” and “perfectionism.” Richard Carranza, New York City school superintendent, says the workshops are just about “what are our biases and how we work with them.”

Michael Bloomberg, former New York City mayor, says that political rage and increasingly polarized discourse are endangering our nation. Americans used to move forward productively after elections regardless of which side won. Now, we seem paralyzed by absolute schism and intolerance. Bloomberg pointed to colleges as a prime example of a rising level of intolerance for different ideas and free speech. Steven Gerrard, a professor at Williams College in Massachusetts, serves as an example of campus intolerance. Students declared Gerrard “an enemy of the people” after he suggested that Williams College join other schools in signing onto what’s called the Chicago Principles.

The statement, published by the Committee of Freedom of Expression at the University of Chicago, calls for free speech to be central to college and university culture. Williams college students said free speech is a part of a right-wing agenda as a “cover for racism, xenophobia, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and classism.” Bloomberg pointed out that fewer than 70 of America’s 4,000 colleges and universities have endorsed or adopted the Chicago statement. State governors and legislators can learn something from their Alaskan counterparts, who slashed public spending on the University of Alaska by 41%. There’s nothing better than the sounds of pocketbooks snapping shut to bring a bit of sanity to college administrators.

We should cheer polarization on every single issue and just realize that is part of life. Should someone in Kansas care what happens on oceans?
The NBA will lose potentially billions in its stand on free speech. Those who lose the money have a right to gripe while on the flip side it’s nice to see a business tell it’s employees they can say what they want.

I will buy a couple Rockets t-shirts in support. But at the same time I support those who would argue teaching a sports culture to a nasty country is a good thing and should be promoted.
There are those who would call that being two faced or chant “pick a side”. My response is your a jerk and I can feel and say what I want and feel. The miracle of America and living in the “grey area” which is life.

Boat I'm a little confused sorry, what's the NBA got to do with this? Or Kansas and oceans for that matter?

Those were just examples where normal citizens can have different views on issues that some people call polarization. It’s not just a black and white issue. It’s all issues.
While I pick on Republicans “right” on many issues I have issue orientated opinions that disturb the “left”.
Answer your question?

BTW, that post was pure propaganda IMO. I have yet to meet anybody except online who would dream up a conspiracy like that.
Although I did see a “right” site claiming the government was causing droughts in Texas.
We have had major floods since. Lol

Looking back into history saying white may not be correct. Don’t the Swedes win most of the awards taking care of all their citizens? They don’t seem to have the complaint passion of the rest of the human race like say Germany. In the US? The pesky whites like a Trump follow those German right traditions that find fault just because your from a country. How silly is that.
I think all of us 7 billion something humans should be judged as individuals. We don’t need extremism from any labeled group or president that think otherwise.

Yes, people should be judged as individuals, no question about that.

How then, do you judge a countries economic, political or expansionist agenda?

Don't get how it's propaganda when it details facts on what's happening at these places and anyone can check this out at any time.

You mean, everyone who's at the college? (Because if you're not there to get a degree -hopefully a useful one - and graduate, you're wasting my tax dollars, your tuition, and all of our time!)

Umm... what? If this doesn't scare you...

The latest trend is to sanction the individual leaders who support nefarious actions.

No not you, my other er, fan ...

Don't mind the following obviously, but don't understand the following to tell me 'what you post is drivel / you have too much time on your hands' - and then they look up something else I posted   🤣  The irony of the time on your hands is hilarious. If you like it and it's interesting, great. If you don't, block me.

The word propaganda used to mean something. On here it seems to mean ''I don't agree with this''.

And yes, my titles are blatantly and purposely belters. ''Trump will win in 2020''. That ain't getting ignored  ;)

The miracle of America

I don't understand how one can comment on the miracle of america and not notice the whole point of this blog is to demonstrate how that miracle is under immense threat and the very freedoms that it is founded on.  It is being attacked by college students that have been brainwashed to hate those freedoms and self hate as far as race.  It's not only stupid but a very scary thing and it is also a very real thing. Also, this is not only happening in colleges, it is also happening in high schools as well. Brainwashing begins early these days, as I have personally witnessed in my niece. It's Amazing the things that they are teaching them now. They are teaching them to hate this country.   The miracle of this country is being turned into the hate of this country and if you can't see that by the examples above and others all over the nation then your head is in the sand. If you truly believe in the miracle of America then the best thing one can do at this point is to expose the evil that is rearing its head to destroy it. One way is by blogging about it. Well done my British friend!  I Thank you, salute you, and I pray for your country and brexit as well.
