I am referring to Western Europe, including Scandinavia and Southern Europe. It is roughly the same in size and population, especially when you consider our vast virtually unpopulated areas.

I am seeing a reactive posture everywhere I look which means we have been punched in the mouth and now looking for a plan.  I am a green prepper who has been working on resilience for 15 years and my ass still puckers knowing what might be ahead for a nation and a world that tries to reboot something complex with complicated networks and systems.  This is a very dangerous time anyone discounting that has not done the math and science.  Personally, I see martial law ahead mainly because too many people will burn through food and medicine quickly and be desperate.  Shut downs do things like this.  China and Italy had a global world still functioning.  Now Europe and Asia are shut down from normal and the US is going into a shut down.  Never has a global world had this happen.  I think we are floating around now in the unknown.  The revised plan should be keep the health care system from being overwhelmed but lets not forget food chains and supplies of all sorts either.  Where is the plan for that?  It is too early for this yet because shelves are going bare but no widespread hunger…yet.  Remember Food has a 3 day rule for human behavior, the 4^th day is ugly.

People have a constitutional right to go out and about as they desire. They are mainly being helpful and voluntarily complying. Judge Andrew Napolitano today spoke on Fox to this issue. 

I applaud your prepping. I think we all should be preppers and educated in basic medical care. A family can do that themselves. We should all store food and water. We should all have guns and ammo in case of societal breakdown or statist oversteps. Even Virginia is threatening to disarm its citizens. The vast bulk of the state is against this but because of D.C. being a neighbor, statists have taken over power. That may have to be dealt with.

There are still huge risks in the US partially caused by Trump's attempt to monetise the crisis and partly because we still don't have a coherent policy to stem the pandemic. Biden is has no principles that are firm. If you look back at his record he has changed every position he ever had. All you have to do is look at his current positions. I read the group most at risk that have the virus is 80 years of age and above. They die at a rate of around 15%. Kinda a far cry from all humans. Lol

i actually doubt there is much if any difference, maybe some countries may be more proficient in some areas but I doubt in all.

If you work on 0.5% death rate as per S.Korea which is one of the most technically advanced nations in the world then the US should expect a death toll of approximately 1.5 million if everyone contracts the virus and it remains as virulent and strong.

everyone won’t get this and it will probably be around the 1 million mark, however a large percentage will die of it without it being attributed to Covid-19 due to lack of testing.

if you are elderly or have elderly members of your family then you need to keep them safe

Rob, I get your point, I really do, but historically what precautions or actions have ‘you’ taken to protect the elderly from seasonal influenza, SARS, ebola, TB or any other infectious disease that has been out there? Have we gone into lockdown?

(PS: I am presently in lockdown in KL, will be interesting to see if it makes one iota of difference in 2 weeks other than driving the economy into recession in a country heavily dependent on oil revenues while the price of oil is headed into the cellar.

The Malaysian government depends on dividends from Petronas to fund 25% of its budget.  That's going to be a big hole in government revenue.

However, there is no way for the government to avoid the lockdown.  Recently, a lot of Muslims have been infected from religious gatherings where they shared meals and thousands lodged together in the mosques.  To do nothing will be political and reputational suicide.

He uses his "eating hand" to dish out food into the trays.  This is a 100% certain method of spreading his saliva all over the food.

There are other reasons for the rapid spread of the virus among the tablig. The mosque is not a hotel. Yet 16,000 people stayed there and slept there for three nights. They had no choice but to sleep on the floor, close up against each other. Such close proximity would have certainly spread the virus as well. This picture below gives an idea of what it looks like when hundreds or thousands of people end up sleeping on the floor next to each other.
