Exxon gunning to have largest US refinery, but will it help unimpressive stock?

Recommended Posts

So, the news that Exxon MAY end up having the largest crude refinery in the US is possibly mean to boost its share price, which has been pretty dismal. It's convenient timing for a story that is not a story ... yet.

Are you talking about this Fox Business report?

First of all, it's Fox--so that's already a good indicator.

Throwing Fox under the bus for any particular reason? It's not like they are the only ones carrying this story.

It might be self-serving to Exxon, but journalistically speaking, its worth a story. Interesting that you pinpoint a Fox report, though, citing shoddy journalism.

It would be nice to have an American country own the largest refinery in AMERICA. As of last year, it's Saudi Arabia's Port Arthur refinery--100% owned, no less.

Oh, it's all shoddy journalism today, but Fox is largely a joke. This was a cheap shot because it was a report everyone was carrying. Save it for the real stuff.

In the meantime ... anyone see that Exxon had to shut down its LNG plant in Papau New Guinea after earthquake followed by landslides and collapse of buildings?
