No not true.

Plus the Dr in France pioneered the combo therapy of adding ZPAK to HCQ which is key to efficacy.

China controls the production of basic ingredience to HCQ and is withholding supply to U.S. Pharma.

This will be remembered.

China also withheld shipments of the reagent needed for the first group of test kits.  Administration did not want that to get out.

The trial in China was useful. But the combo with azithromycin came from S Korea. The Chinese trial ran parallel with additional treatments so it was not clear which drug was doing what. Their results were inconclusive. It was disinformation to hide the apparent benefit. China no longer has value to the world so long as the communist party is in power.

Many countries produce HCQ.  None of the countries besides China will share it with the USA, even your own allies. Yet, China is the evil one for reserving it for her own people.

Germany and India are hoarding. They won't even send any to Italy. Poland makes it but it will likely be outbid in EU. 

Israel;s Teva and Novartis in Switzerland make it and both are ramping up production to make more (it is not clear if the additional capacity is in US plants or elsewhere). In the US Mylan has started up its mothballed HCQ plant.

China is extorting what?  Extortion is a rather strong accusation, but is expected coming from you. Extortion means a benefit conferred unwillingly. I can think of no time in history when the USA has conferred a benefit unwillingly. Quite the opposite, as in the recent case of Biden extorting the Ukraine govt for his personal benefit. Amazingly, someone who is confirmed beyond doubt to have committed a criminal act is running for nomination as your president. They are refusing to export precursors and the completed drug to the US and demanding tariff reductions. That is extortion. People are importing that drug or its components to survive, not for an economic gain. 

The American political and bureaucratic swamp is ripe for a serious cleanup. Does not make me view the CCP as any better than my domestic political crooks.  Brazil had and actual convict running for office form jail. That 2005 CDC study was in vitro, not in vivo (there are plenty of substances that work fine in cultured cells in the lab, but not in the body. Hell, even many substances tried on animals don't end up working in humans).

SARS as a outbreak died off as a imminent danger to society by the time that work was published, so I'm guessing the CDC was focusing on other stuff. I'm guessing people in China had seen the study in January, so it confirmed some other anecdotal things they had seen (such as Lupus patients who were on HCQ not getting sick with COVID).

Trump used extortion and threats as his basis for the so-called trade deal. I used to watch videos of deserted cities in China during their epidemic, but now life is returning to normal.  I visited Shanghai with my family last December, and here is a recent video of that city returning to life.
