Recommended Posts

With a trailer full of battery packs in tow on its way to complete the first production cargo trip for the company from Gigafactory 1 in Nevada to Fremont car factory in California. Tesla will be the first customer for its own truck.

Logical move. With car factory in California and battery factory in Nevada and Semi in the middle, you don't need anyone  else for delivery. Great advertising.

Being your own first customer is a great idea. You save your money, see any possible weakness in manufacture and any flaws in the operation of these trucks. Better to find it by yourself than by unsatisfied customers.

Now other truck makers bite their nails while waiting to see if Tesla is going to make it possible. The incredible specs of this truck created many skeptics.

Musk has already done much more incredible things than this to happen. Remember the rocket. This is a piece of cake for him.

Daimler's said the Semi defies the laws of physics. Right now they are keeping their fingers crossed for the Semi to fail. A lot is at stake, I hear, a lineup of 10 e-trucks, to be rolled out in 2021, versus the Semi's 2019 schedule. AND biting their nails.
