The head of WHO Ethiopian Tedros was a former leader of the Marxist Ethiopian party.  He was supported by China to aquire the post of Director.

In 2018 under Ethiopian Tedros leadership  W.H.O. SPENT OVER $200 MILLION ON TRAVEL.

Nope, these are viral containment hospitals.  Each room is equipped with negative airflow, which sends cleaned, filtered air at all times into the patient room while preventing air—along with potentially infectious particles—from escaping out into the rest of the hospital. Ditto sanitary ware must be water proof.  Closed-circuit video cameras monitor safety throughout the patient areas. Glass windows—and intercom connection—links the patient care area to the room where unprotected health care providers are stationed, to let workers observe and communicate with the patient without having to don specialized garb.

You can watch this video where China built such wards for export to South Korea.  The relevant clip starts around 4:03.

 

China also commandeered a lot of existing structures such as stadiums, etc. as makeshift wards to quarantine patients with mild symptoms. The following video is from early February:

The WHO has historically been one of the more important organizations in the world. The returns on investment for the US's involvement is once again, hard to quantify, but we'd most likely have to spend far more eradicating communicable diseases that spread into our borders if the WHO didn't exist. For better or worse, in a practical sense, many diseases can only be stopped via transnational organizations that can coordinate responses between governments.

I mean, if as people say that the disease was already here last year (in Dec. or even Nov), how come the CDC didn't detect it and then contain it? That's its job, right? Are you saying that the Chinese gov is superior to our CDC? Are you saying that we can't do or detect anything without the Chinese telling us so?

The point is, all countries outside of China had the same information we had and saw China's quarantine of 50M in January. Many of them acted accordingly. Among all of these countries, how did we perform? That is the fair comparison. You can whine against China or the WHO however you want, but tell me honestly that we have done a better job than most other developed countries -- because we really should have given that we are much further away from China and do not have as many human interaction with China as, say, Taiwan, Japan, and SKorea.
