How Donald Trump failed at the single most important task of the Oval Office: keeping the American people safe from harm

A very informative article mapping the blunders commited by Donald Trump on his stumbling through the coronavirus crisis. He and his T-cult will try to shift the blame, forget and downplay them, so it's important not to let the facts to be "swept away".

The concerted effort to blame Trump for the China Virus seems to be intensifying.

On a related note ...

You may have noticed that the mainstream media and the entertainment industry / Hollywood seem to have an agenda.

Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes awards show gave a loud heads up about Epstein.

If you are bored out of your mind during the lockdown, perhaps you might find this feature length documentary below ... interesting.

While this info is very old news to me, I'm pretty sure much of it will be new news to some people.

80 minute documentary.  Took 2 years to make.  Helps explain why the media constantly bombards with screeching hatred against Trump.  3 million views so far in 3 days.  Not bad for a documentary that has zero paid advertising, and is spread by word of mouth only.

I already archived a copy of this documentary, as I expect YouTube to yank the documentary on "copyright violations" or other such nonsense.

If you watch this documentary, you might understand why I get so dismissive of most of the frothingly hysterical and concerted attacks against Trump, who is working counter to the Mainstream Media / Hollywood agenda.

Also, you may have read some of my repeated comments to ignore the Mainstream Media, and unplug your TV.  But I have never really alluded to why I keep suggesting to ignore and unplug.  This documentary helps explain my reasons why.

Yoshiro, after discussing with others privately, I had decided not to share this video yesterday, because it is pretty off topic for an oil & gas forum.  But your thread here changed my mind.  As you stated ...

WHO Guidence For Schools March 10 2020

A review of the WHO Timeline summary to find factual keystones of WHO recommendations.  March 10 2020 the WHO issued a news release and Guidance: Key Messages and Actions for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Schools.

"Guidance includes practical actions and checklists for administrators, teachers, parents and children"

https://www.who.int/news-room/detail/10-03-2020-covid-19-ifrc-unicef-and-who-issue-guidance-to-protect-children-and-support-safe-school-operations

10 March 2020 Joint News Release

GENEVA/NEW YORK - The International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) today issued new guidance to help protect children and schools from transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The guidance provides critical considerations and practical checklists to keep schools safe. It also advises national and local authorities on how to adapt and implement emergency plans for educational facilities.

In the event of school closures, the guidance includes recommendations to mitigate against the possible negative impacts on children’s learning and wellbeing. This means having solid plans in place to ensure the continuity of learning, including remote learning options such as online education strategies and radio broadcasts of academic content, and access to essential services for all children. These plans should also include necessary steps for the eventual safe reopening of schools.

Where schools remain open, and to make sure that children and their families remain protected and informed, the guidance calls for:

Providing children with information about how to protect themselves;

Promoting best handwashing and hygiene practices and providing hygiene supplies;

Cleaning and disinfecting school buildings, especially water and sanitation facilities; and

Increasing airflow and ventilation.

The guidance, while specific to countries that have already confirmed the transmission of COVID-19, is still relevant in all other contexts. Education can encourage students to become advocates for disease prevention and control at home, in school, and in their community by talking to others about how to prevent the spread of viruses. Maintaining safe school operations or reopening schools after a closure, requires many considerations, but if done well, can promote public health.

For example, safe school guidelines implemented in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone during the outbreak of Ebola virus disease from 2014 to 2016 helped prevent school-based transmissions of the virus.

UNICEF is urging schools – whether open or helping students through remote learning – to provide students with holistic support. Schools should provide children with vital information on handwashing and other measures to protect themselves and their families; facilitate mental health support; and help to prevent stigma and discrimination by encouraging students to be kind to each other and avoid stereotypes when talking about the virus.

The new guidance also offers helpful tips and checklists for parents and caregivers, as well as children and students themselves. These actions include:

Monitoring children’s health and keeping them home from school if they are ill;

Encouraging children to ask questions and express their concerns; and

Coughing or sneezing into a tissue or your elbow and avoid touching your face, eyes, mouth and nose.

So, on March 10 2020, the World Health Organization issued a press release and bulletin to minimize the spread of Covid-19 in school environments.

Social Distancing was only now being expanded beyond those exhibiting flu symptoms.

There was no recommendation for school shutdowns; schooling was encouraged to continue.

Questions:

1) Will the media or politicians such as Schiff investigate why the World Health Organization on March 10 did not take a more aggressive action to "protect the children"?

2) Or will the media say the WHO guidance of March 10 is President Trump's fault?

That bit in the press briefing tonight was absolutely embarrassing.  It looked like a grade 10 student made a slideshow for a class presentation.  This shameless promotion, propaganda and his entire way of speaking is just purely embarrassing.  That's the term that comes to mind, over and over, with regard to his behaviour.  He acts like a child, is condescending and rude.

I don't blame him for the virus and I don't think your average American does either.  But he is trying to revise history.  The things he said early on are on video.  Did others say and do stupid things?  They did indeed, but at least he should own up to his OWN mistakes.

And stop with the whole theme of being "the greatest in the world" at whatever the topic is, every other sentence.  Please.

The mainstream media clearly does not like being called out on their incessant attacks and hysterical panic-mongering.  Cry more, media.    CNN, when you go bankrupt from abysmal ratings that continue to plummet, taxpayers will not bail you out.  Ordinary people are disgusted with MSM attacks.

WHO Press Releases March 10 & 11

World Health Organization on March 10 issued a press release and guidance on schools.  WHO promoted students continuing to attend schools.  Teachers should teach proper hand washing and learn about social distancing if somebody displays coughing and sneezing (flu like symptoms).

The next day, World Health Organization on March 11 issued a press release that the Covid-19 is now considered pandemic, a term they do not use lightly.

So, one day WHO states children are encouraged to go to school and the very next day WHO states Covid-19 is considered a pandemic.  Doesn't sound like they considered the children's health.

The mainstream media does not call out actions of the medical experts, the World Health Organization, but they will criticize factual statements by President Trump.

March 11-13 is also when U.S. governors started issuing emergency declarations (step 1 to obtaining extra federal funds and reimbursements).

World Health Organization:

WHO characterizes COVID-19 as a pandemic

11 March 2020

Speaking at the COVID-19 media briefing, the WHO Director-General said:

"WHO has been assessing this outbreak around the clock and we are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity, and by the alarming levels of inaction.

We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.

Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly. It is a word that, if misused, can cause unreasonable fear, or unjustified acceptance that the fight is over, leading to unnecessary suffering and death.

Describing the situation as a pandemic does not change WHO’s assessment of the threat posed by this virus. It doesn’t change what WHO is doing, and it doesn’t change what countries should do.

We have never before seen a pandemic sparked by a coronavirus. This is the first pandemic caused by a coronavirus.

And we have never before seen a pandemic that can be controlled, at the same time."

I watched the end third of it. Seems like typical QAnon stuff. I'm not surprised it spreads easily. Keep in mind that despite Youtube's likely demonetization of the video, the original content creators will probably handsomely from the video because of the fame caused by the eyeballs.

When these conspiracies move from troll boards like 8chan to enough of the real world, it can and has caused problems:

Except, based on the last three weeks, we now know covid-19 is not the flu. Since this is a novel viral infection, if the number of cases in an area spikes, there is the risk that the local healthcare system may become overwhelmed. This was observed in Wuhan, Northern Italy, parts of Spain and the metro NYC area.

I am definitely not going to ever be President but it is fair to say I know I could do a better job than his team and create less of a carnival than what actually occurred in that press briefing.

I am not a Trump fan and often critical, but I will give him his due credit for something.  He always seems obsessed with his ratings and talking about the ratings of others. He is doing an AMAZING job of making me want to continue to watch.  Like a car wreck, I just can't look away!  It feels like I'm watching a bad stage act, totally cringe-worthy yet I do tune in.

The latest thing that I've noticed.  Last week, he wants to follow "the constitution" and allow Governors the right to make their own calls re: a state-wide shutdown order (but will step in if needed, wtf?).  This week, he has total control over whether the States can re-open for business.  Or did we revise last week's thoughts on the constitution?

Have another go at me, I can take it.  I always wondered how Trump could get half the country to vote for him and what Trump supporters are really like.  And I feel like I am getting such a great experience with these boards, in terms of getting to know you all.  Thank you.

No, your comments do not strike chords, they are predictable and tedious. I normally wouldn’t bother to reply but I’m in my fifth week of lockdown in Malaysia and am gasping for any form of entertainment, weak as it may be.

Limitation of the President & Have the States Violated the Constitution Imposing a Lockdown?

QUESTION: Can Trump reopen the economy at will?

ANSWER: There is no doubt that Americans have been getting a civics lesson as they turn to Washington for answers to the coronavirus crisis, but discover that their state governors have far more control over what goes on in their daily lives. It has been State and local authorities making decisions about shutting down businesses and allocating medical equipment to hospitals – not the President nor the compromised Anthony Fauci ...

... CONCLUSION:

Therefore, relying on these decisions, the attempt by the states to lock-down the economy is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and the President has the power even under National Security to reopen the economy since it has been illegally shut down at the request of Bill Gates and his surrogate Anthony Fauci. This is dealing DIRECTLY with interstate commerce which is no different than protectionism that each state could then impose tariffs on imports from another state, which was the clear intention of the Founding Fathers to prohibit.

So if you have the time, why not address a few things specifically?  You just insult me in a vague way and then move on to another argument I guess?  You are more a politician than you thought, avoiding the issues I raised.

@Douglas Buckland please be gentle with UNC12345, he is new here.  Remember, more amusing to use wit instead of mud.

Yoshiro referred to "How Donald Trump failed at the single most important task of the Oval Office: keeping the American people safe from harm".

One way to keep the American people safe from harm is to protect Social Security. The Social Security Administration in the United States admits that it is not adequately funded.

The corona virus could have largely solved the problem, since it is killing mostly those who are drawing Social Security. And it is disproportionately killing people with comorbidities who don't have much longer to live. It doesn't kill many of those younger, healthy people who are paying taxes. But fighting the virus is destroying the solution to the problem.

At this point, all attacks on Trump seem propelled by exuberant hate for him and, above all for his America first and to hell with political correctness, to hell with moving factories overseas and to hell with no borders and mass migration from hell holes, this is why his critic have. have credibility of a prostitute criticizing prostitution.

If anyone is interested, this site outlines the 136 powers available to a President during a national emergency.  Additional controls are also given to the Secretary of Health & Human Services during a public health emergency.
