Is Sunpower trying to buy its way out of tariff exemption?

SunPower stocks hasn't done well since the announcement of tariffs on imported solar panels, and now it's trying to get the Trump admin to exempt it (it needs parts from China, I think) in what amounts to the dangling of an expansion of manufacturing (read: more jobs) in the U.S. So, basically, it's saying, if you give us some kind of exemption, we won't have to make investment cuts and can expand our U.S. panel manufacturing ...
