Oil crash has made ME more volatile than ever. Trump's troop buildup in ME puts U.S. at risk of being trapped in yet another quagmire . Congress must rein in Trump's misadventures.

All for what ? Saudi Arabia ?  The Saudis are trying to destroy U.S. independent oil industry and Trump sends more U.S. military  equipment, Patriot anti-missile systems and troops.  Saudis are not U.S. friend.

Mohammed bin Salman/Saudi Arabia has declared jihad on U.S. oil industry.

Trump support starting to wane. If Biden gets forced out of Presidential race due to sexual assault charges and replaced with a moderate Democrat Trump will be a one term President.

Congress is already starting to turn on Saudi Arabia.

Saudis seem to have forgotten who their friends are.

Trump has forgotten who he is supposed to be representing.

Guess that's just the way I am.  A state leader, MBS, ordering the butchering of a journalist , cutting him up with medical bone saws because he wrote an article criticizing him doesn't sit right with me.

Or arresting a 14 year old boy on a bicycle who yelled insults about the government.  Put him in jail for four years and then executed on his 18th birthday.

Or MBS's cousin that went to university in Lebanon , fell in love with a married man.  When she wouldn't renounce her love for him MBS had her head lopped off in a public square and made her family watch.

The U.S. spends between $30 to $40 Billion year protecting ME OIL SHIPMENTS.

SAUDIS are a bunch of barbaric ingrates.

Tell your friends the oil Cash Cow is dead.  They need to adjust their plans accordingly.

Yes, I just can't get over it

How many Billion has the U.S. spent in the ME.  Much of it protecting the barbaric Saudi Royal family.  How many U.S. soldiers lives have been lost ?

You know where you can put your sword dance.

In the annals of history, did he know what he was doing performing that ceremony? Gun Running families who squeal are not looked on lightly, a bit like Hillaries body count, whats the difference.

Have you written to your local Senator regarding your disapproval of the KSA?

Your being consumed by a Bearded man in a white robe, but if this is your therapy who am I to say anything else. Fill your boots, its just getting a bit old.

I respect your opinion you won't hear any more from me on the subject.

Call it what it is .  .  .  SAUDI ARABIA HAS DECLARED JIHAD ON THE U.S. OIL INDUSTRY.

The U.S. can't lose this time.

I like the Forbes Magazine plan , withdraw the troops and let Iran close the straights of Hormuz. The oil market would be balanced within weeks

It has done no such thing.

You are confusing a business strategy for dealing with international competitors, with religious ideas.

MBS wants to sell his big-money-earner product.  No different from General Electric wanting to sell its jet engines.  They have international competitors;  GE has Rolls Royce as its competitor  (for example).  OK, so the Polish Air Force wants new planes to counter the (very real) threat of Russian dominance over their airspace, so it orders up some advanced jet fighters from the USA. Those can be equipped with either SNECMA or Pratt & Whitney engines.  The Pratt guys go over there and offer to lend the Poles the money, from the US Government, as long as the Poles buy the Pratt motors. GE gets frozen out of the deal. (That actually happened, incidentally; I know the lead salesman for Pratt that put that together).

Look, your chum MbS whom you so dislike  (OK, so he is an uncouth murdering barbarian, I grant you that)  simply wants to keep selling his product.  So he parks his tankers full of that product right off your door, so you can have it instantly, and he offers it to you at whatever you want to pay.  Now, is that superb customer service, or what?

To call customer service, "Jihad," is a bit silly.

Sorry , silly me.

I'm using Jihad as a figure of speech, a rehtorical  phrase a metaphor.

Get off your high horse.  LOL

Don't be so pious.  Just what this forum needs .  .  .  .  another Politically Correct troll.

If  you hadn't noticed KSA is a theocracy.  Everything about them is based on their 15th century religious beliefs system.

But .  .  .  Thank you for your expert opinion.

Do you back Trump spending $34 Billion a year protecting shipments of oil from countries that are out to destroy U.S. oil industry ?

OPEC openly threatened U.S. shale at aCerraweek  dinner in 2018.

Dumping is illegal.

Predatory pricing is illegal.

Instead of Jihad would you prefer I use the word destroy.  Is that Politically Correct for you ?

Saudi Arabia a fine friend of the U.S.  ?  No it is not.

Americans should not stand for the Saudis destruction of our industry. MBS should just execute some more dissidents that called him names instead of destroying the oil industry of his supposed friend the U.S.

MBS has a lot of enemies in his own extended family.  Why on Earth does he want to destroy the oil industry of one of his only friends left.

Doesn't matter how much money the Saudi lobbyist spread around the U.S. politicians.  The sentiment is changing.  Congress is getting fed up with MBS.  Saudi Arabia has hired more lobbyist and think tanks on K Street than most others.

At least he has Donald and Jared on his side.  They could be gone very soon.

Then what does MBS have.

You seem to biting the hand that fed you, have you forgotten Donald Trump enabled the oil industry that the US now enjoys and will continue to enjoy.

This model you seem to enjoy is in fact socialism like it not that is coming to a end. A investors paradise yes it was but as anyone can see so fragile it can send the financials into chaos.

However you have touched on a sensitive issue, all that oil wealth in the ME...it would be easy to suggest oil be tamed down to 40 a barrel a figure that would tame down the feeding of international terrorism along with rouge states.

16th century rules of governing and untold wealth has been a very bad model.

FYI

The U.S. oil industry that Donald Trump now lays claim to was well on its way long before he even thought of running for President.

Vertical fracing was around 50 years ago.  It was first improved around 2005 to 2006 with advanced completion techniques and horizontal drilling. It became more efficient every year since.

Shale gas started about 2006 . About this time Bush pushed through some extremely generous oil tax legislation. Shale gas hit it's inflection point about 2009 to 2010.

As for development Oil Shale was always about 3 years behind natural gas shale.

Truth be told, shale oil's destiny was going to happen even if the world never heard of Trump. Some posters on this forum that were involved back then can tell you all about the start of the Shale oil and gas history.

Trump has removed a few inconsequential regulations that didn't change the big picture.

Now, while Trump isn't responsible for the shale revolution he is a "friend" of the oil industry.  A President Biden and a Democratic Congress could be a nightmare for the industry. (Biden is taking donations from oil industry )

I do give Trump administration credit for their China policy, NATO stance and with bringing U.S. troops home .   .   . .   up until his recent deployment in ME and in particular Saudi Arabia.  That's dangerous.

He deserves credit for various other items.

Trump's troops support in the ME is dangerous. The region is very unstable at this time and getting more so every day.

If a serious conflict breaks out Trump can't say " I changed my mind , we're bringing our troops home.

Trump rightfully believes U.S. overwhelming military power would defeat any adversary.  Probably but not without some serious damage and death.

Dangerous.

There are a few powers that should always be kept at arms length. For instance, when church and state get too tightly wound it never ends well. You end up with holy wars or Dreyfus Affairs which damage both church and state immensely.

Corporatism, entwining business and state too tightly causes other problems. For all his faults, one thing that Vladimir Putin has been good at is not using Russian businesses to punish international provocateurs. The only time Russia threatened to cut off oil and gas to Europe is when Ukraine refused to pay for the gas going through their pipes - a business, not a political, decision.

The US up until 9/11 had principles with regards to international relations. Various administrations have wielded those principles and the power to uphold them quite well, albeit with major mistakes from time to time. The fact that the US upheld those principles is the biggest reason that the US dollar became the central currency of the world. Perhaps there is subterfuge here and there, but no country would have agreed to have oil and the international banking system at the mercy of the US Federal Reserve if the US hadn't been upfront with and guided by its principles.

The problem with making such tactical and haphazard decisions is that the reliability of the US is being questioned more and more. The Catholic Church managed the western world for 1000 years - not by being right or number one at anything, but by being the most reliable seat of power in Europe.

Saudis end capital punishment for minors that commit crimes

Maybe there is hope for your KSA.  It's a good start.
