Saudi Arabia plans to build a Hyperloop that would shrink commutes from hours to minutes -- here's what it could look like

Recommended Posts

The royal family has created a new plan called “Vision 2030,” which provides a blueprint for modernising cities across the kingdom. As part of this plan, the country says it hopes to build a Hyperloop, a massive, high-speed pneumatic transit system that would travel between several cities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Saudi Arabia’s Hyperloop would connect several cities in the Middle East, including Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi.

The company claims that it would travel at around 700 mph and take passengers from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes, which is normally a two-hour drive.

A trip from Riyadh to Jeddah — which currently takes over 10 hours — would last just 76 minutes. Going from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi — currently over 8.5 hours — would take 48 minutes.

Virgin Hyperloop One says there would be 120 pod gates accommodating over 8,500 passengers per hour.

Hyperloop concept is future. It’s suitable for civilians as a super fast transport system, and military as a fast response system.

Step forward. The Hyperloop is just one project of many to come. That's part of the vision 2030 to focus less on oil and focus on Hyperloop and solar energy so will increase the economy in Saudi Arabia, and that's great news to hear about building hyperloop in big country in Saudi...A bright future ahead of SA

This is a part of their vision 2030. Focus less on oil and focus more on solar energy and other projects like Hyperloop. This will increase the economy in Saudi Arabia.

What I find amazing is the capacity that these pods can hold and transport within an hour. We all want hyperloops!
