World looks on in horror as Trump flails over pandemic despite claims US leads way

Told you it would work this way.  It is the only small "victory" the governors can claim: We/I ordered the people into lockups (I'm changing the term) out of an abundance of caution, for their own safety!  It is not an easy job but I made the hard calls.  Please vote for me."  But the votes will not be forthcoming.  Governors that continued the lockups and delayed reopening will be voted out of office.  I suspect more than a few "firebrands" will win governorships in the next elections.  And they will go on a rampage to reverse the catastrophe that is our State Governments.

It was a LOCKUP, not a lockdown, and they miscalculated.  The deplorables did not act as ignorants.  Many Lefties will also migrate to the Right and the losses to the Democrat Party will be devistating indeed.

Fury in Germany as thousands join protests across country over lockdown measures and a vaccine plan by Bill Gates as Angela Merkel's popularity falls

Thousands of people across Germany are protesting coronavirus lockdown measures over the weekend.

Meanwhile, in Canada.

Manifestation anti-confinement à Montréal et à Québec

(Lots of pics in the article, here is one of them)

(Google Translated below)

A convoy of about 70 vehicles left Montreal Sunday morning to demonstrate against containment in front of the National Assembly in Quebec.

It was around 8:30 a.m. that the demonstrators met for the start at the Rockland Center. Several vehicles on site displayed posters protesting against the confinement and installation of the 5G network.

No one would have gotten out of his vehicle, however, and the police did not have to intervene, said the Montreal Police Department (SPVM).

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) agents were also on the scene and followed the contingent of demonstrators when he set off for Quebec City on Highway 40.

Before reaching parliament, anti-containment protesters planned to make a stop in Trois-Rivières.

Reached out early in the afternoon, the SQ assured that the demonstration was going smoothly.

This is not the first demonstration of this kind in Quebec since the start of confinement. At the end of April, around 100 protesters gathered in front of the National Assembly. Anti-vaccine and anti-5G posters were also prominently displayed.

Since the start of the pandemic, the creation of a vaccine against COVID-19 and the installation of the 5G cellular network have been at the heart of the most popular conspiracy theories on social networks.

The anti-containment movement, however, remains much smaller in Quebec than in the United States, where it gained support from President Trump.

The US has the best scientists in the world.  In the past the US led the world in terms of response to infectious disease prevention.  Indeed it is such a tragedy what is happening and what is predicted to happen in America.

Can America  return to sensible governance instead of hubris of its political leadership?  Please let the health professionals, scientists and smart people lead this fight against the pandemic.  This is the view from Asia.

From MSNBC:

There is no consensus amonth the scientists or doctors for anyone to follow!

Asia seems to be following the biased mass media anti-Trump camp closely...

Don't care about politics or let media/politicians think for you and you will always make the wrong choice. Been there done that.

Lots of independent scientists, health professionals, smart people inside and outside US against the lock down, but since they are not suite into US mainstream political purpose, they are ignore, so they can only go on their social networks or blogs, which will not reach everyone or even if people know about it, they will easily disregard because it is not from mainstream.

Everything is about politics. Science researches in pharmacy needs funding for their research, can be from governments or corporations and their researches can be selected by politicians to make political gain or to pharmacy corporation to make money.  Even if you fund yourself for your research lead to meaningful cheap way to counter Covid19 but  politicians don't think it suite to their political agenda, they will fund counter researches and use these researches for the gains. These counter researches can be from very honest scientists, but their projects objectives are different.

For example in many poor countries or in developed small countries where public healthcare budget is limited, not worth for corruption, politicians and scientists will try cheapest fastest way to counter Covid19 from existing medicines for severe cases. They have no money incentive. While rich big Capitalims countries where healthcare budget are enormous, people focus on testings or vaccines first before the  find a expensive cures can have public funds and  sell worldwide, making their stocks go up.

Politicians public health decisions& policy based on the science departments. While politicians come and go every 4 or 8 years, the grass root of the science departments are the same. So if these departments scientists corrupted, their new politician boss will make wrong decisions based on  former misdirected researches from their employee. Even if the politician boss has a scientist background, he himself could be corrupted  or make decisions based on misdirected researches from his employee. He doesn't have time to do the research himself. If he is not corrupted, he can only detect the problems/bugs and debug these gradually as much as he can in 4 or 8 years, if he is still have that position.

Take Malaysia political system is an example, Mahathir was great and wise but he may pick the wrong successor, who had been with him for a while, but I think some of Malaysia mainstreams are still reliable when Mahathir came back while others aren't, which brings his successor back again.

All US people realize this. The only problems are each support from this party think the opposite party is the more corrupted one. The rule of thumb is whatever party target and praise the youngsters as their main voters and got strong support from them, these innocents in the rebel ages don't have much immunizations from the political or media virus, and they may not agree with their parents and herding with friends, they are easily to be scared about a dark long future in their time. The older generations contracted these political or media virus for many year, has a family to worry about bills and houses,  and has been in their career for a while have more chance of immunization. I was young, I felt the world came to a dark time when Bush won over Kerry. Now look back, both are BS.

In the US most of the mainstreams are on one side (they can bury one event with many other events that fitted their agenda and still have credits for "independent" news sources or "anti corruption" ). The other side is off stream, Fox news or social networks which are regarded conspiracy theorists. It is exactly the same in any Communism countries, the only different is in the US, mainstream are private organization and no news sources shut down because of the government.

Before I came to the US, I watch CNN during Bush time and think US Government was so evil, lucky to have the freedom of speech to somewhat stop them. When Hillary opened her campaign, I support her until I compares their debates and policies and start confuse why CNN didn't  make sense anymore and have many media techniques that I am too familiar with. When I do some researches, all of the mainstream news say the same like CNN while I couldn't find any news sources that are reputable and make sense.

In any country, conspiracy or offstream media can only rise because the mainstream are losing the credits themselves, not because of the conspiracy, as they always the big dogs and has the advantages on persuading people. The less you understand about politics, the more fear and hate you gain from the mainstream. With many "Trumpers", the worst case scenario is another Obama for 8 years. I somewhat feel relief for Trump if he loses the next election to get off the Dem and media but start worrying about my future.

All the East Asian countries followed the approach for SARS produced by US CDC in 2004 (high level, attached).  South Korea and Singapore didn't have any lockdown for the first wave, because they started surveillance and testing when the number of cases were still small.  They only isolated (localised lockdown) certain areas where clusters occurred.

China implemented lockdown on a massive scale because the number of cases has exploded and it was no longer possible to isolate and control using surveillance and contact tracing.  After the chain of transmission has been broken by the lockdown, they have reopened most of the country.  Surveillance, testing and isolation is still in place, supplemented by invasive technology.  Recently, they locked down around 11 million people to control a second wave in the North East.

I didn't follow what happened in Beijing, but in Shanghai, they were under quarantine from Chinese New Year, till the end of February, a period of 6 weeks, and then people went back to the office with social distancing.  Later, they implemented an Orwellian surveillance and health tracking system for every individual.

I have been watching this group of Americans who went back clubbing and partying since March.  Reminds me of my younger days 😊

What a truck load of liberal BS  Trump is the man of the hour and thank God he is the President

Obama's crooked FBI and others are going down- Trump will rebuild America and continue to keep his foot on the throat of all foreign threats to our Country

We don't need oil from Saudi or anyone else no need to let anyone manipulate the market

Texas is back at work and once demand hits, like today, oil will go up and the big players will drill out here in West Texas at 35-40 bbl

Its sad that an oil price website is promoting fake news just like all the liberal owned News out lets but you know what ?

"We the People"   voted Trump in even in spite of a crooked election and "We the People" will vote him back in this November.

Oil market was already down over this being an election year -then Saudi and Russia started a pissing contest and the final straw  was Covid 19 shutting off demand for oil world wide.

Guess what ? its over   and time to get back to Making America Great Again and whooping on China's ass.

P.S want to hear something hilarious ?  Bumbling Joe Biden   that's funny I don't care who you are

Mr. Kamamura - try quoting another rag other than the Guardian.  If your facts come from the Guardian, that publication is known world-over as dishonest and false reporting always trying to embrace far left agendas.  If you look seriously at the actual facts on the ground, many countries are essentially hiding their deaths due to the virus and have hospitals totally overcrowded. One other point Kamamura - how many countries can plow $5 trillion for relief funds back into their country due to a nasty virus?  Can't think of another one, except China maybe? Let's not count the communist for this exercise.

No one is insulting liberals/trees, just speaking to their true nature. Then there is the America socialist/progressive, who relish the square peg round hole theorys....But that is a whole set of dynamics I choose to not to engage with. Self abuse is a cognitive disorder and social distancing does have therapeutic benefits.

It is a very small 2 page document.  Here is the link to the CDC site instead.  Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan followed these guidelines.  In China's case, the virus has already spread too widely and they had to implement a brutal shutdown.

My point is that it seems odd that Ground Zero was in Wuhan, half a million people passed through Wuhan before it was locked down, the virus spread internationally very quickly, but the seats of government and finance in China, Beijing and Shanghai respectively, were relatively unaffected.

No, not every nation is flailing.  But true, yours is the worst.  Well, you get what you vote for.  $6 trillion bail out so far, with none of it spent on a solution; simply to keep the wealth of the 1%.  Well, you get what you pay for.  As you slave away to pay your debts and taxes, think about whom you are really supporting.  When the covid strikes you in the second wave, do let us know how you fare.

Wow Frankfruter you really drank all the cool aid. Being how you're so enlightened on how countries really performed in this current pandemic please explain the ~20 million cell phone users who've suddenly vanished off the face of the Earth in China? If you have no idea what I'm referring to, I'm not surprised, but you can google it! Oooops that's one of those evil American companies better use another internet search engine and internet system that isn't based on US tech, oh wait that's right, there aren't any....

Boy oh boy Frankfurter, how can you be proud of yourself for using the creation of the Evil Empire? If you really don't like the US, get off our tech, just like we told the CCP! You realize that by using these sites your actually contributing a small amount to those Trillions of wealth generated every year by the USA despite the Govt. debt.

It's also strange how China ignored/suppressed information on the outbreak for months, yet only ~4,000 people died and magically the case load stayed below the nice round 100,000 number. Meanwhile in other countries it started spreading like wildfire right off the..... Bat. I guess viruses are just less motivated in China. Maybe it thought to itself "this place sucks, I want to go to Milan and New York!"

Another famous communist named Stalin said if you're going to make an omelette you'll need to break a few eggs. 20-30 million humans are just a few eggs to the CCP. They're dead, they didn't matter. Just a statistic and rounding error.

Let me point to my favorite non-home country again: Taiwan. 26M population, 440 cases, 7 deaths so far. They even had hundreds of thousands returning from China in January! The numbers can be controlled if you implement  real lock downs, quarantines, or screenings early enough (that is, in January).

I repeat, 440 cases and 7 deaths out of 26M people, including all those just returned from China.
