Shell said it will still sell the oil and gas the society needs, while adapting its portfolio to lower-carbon energy, “when this makes commercial sense.”

Yep, now is the prep stage, but all the big boys will be ready when the 'commercial sense' time arrives. I think this report sort of defines how everyone should be thinking. Yes, a big change is coming, but like all change, there is a significant transition period. Not just this juvenile thinking along the lines of "oil bad, renewables good" and then a bunch of politics on both sides. It's a process.
