Trans Mountain Gets More Support Than You Might Think

Despite the headlines that might lead one to believe that opposition is increasing for Trans Mountain, a new poll out suggests that the opposite is true--support for the pipeline is growing, even in British Columbia.

The federal government offered to fund it. That idea is not terribly popular, though, even among those who do not oppose the project. Taxpayers not keen to foot the bill.

Interesting how in the poll, Canadian residents see Alberta PM Notley as having done the best job when it comes to the Trans Mountain project. Kinder Morgan came in second, and Trudeau third.

But when respondents were asked who did a poor job, Trudeau came in first place.

Just goes to show you that you just can't win.

B.C's PM Horgan came in the bottom as far as the "good job" category and 2nd place for "poor job". So it's lose-lose for Horgan.

Nice that the media is making it out to sound like everyone is so against the project.

I think this is clear that in the end, Horgan will cave. The only question is, come election time, will Trudeau pay for BC and Alberta's spat?

Trudeau now says the pipeline will be built, contrary to Kinder Morgan's announcement yesterday that the project might be untenable due to the inter-governmental spat. Trudeau really needs this project to go forward--despite the public seeing BC as the wrongdoer here, Trudeau hasn't come out looking like roses either.
