Today the government is attacking freedom of the press. Not in a little insubstantial way like fact-checking the president. 

According to Time, "Between May 26 to June 3, the tracker received more than 279 claims of violations to press freedom—claims that can range from physical assault, arrest, damage or seizure of equipment, and several other additional criteria."

I also agree that Donald Trump is the greatest enemy of the freedom of the speech in the US. From the beginning of his term, he started a witch hunt in among the NASA employees with the intention of firing everyone who published scientific articles about the climate change. It is a known fact that during press conferences, he favors reporters that publish praise about his person to those who strive to provide objective coverage. 

So the thread should be named: "The downside of being a lying, treacherous imbecile - the forgotten art of fact checking in the era of the Trump cult."

Indeed, regardless of what "side" you care about it is very unstable times.

If the extreme left goes way too crazy trump may use it as reasonable justification for further draconian measures. Trump is a media and attention man, if he can turn the media into a 100% propaganda machine I suspect he will.  He already threatened his beloved twitter.

If the left "extremists" dial it back and do peaceful protests only, and trump issues shady policies with little justification anyways, and only more unrest will ensue.

Ideally, the separation between media and government is upheld as much as possible. I also hope the demonstrations just end - no more awareness can be gained from this - it just creates more opportunities for clashes.

Observation from the outsider, non-American and living in all-White society, apart from major cities it is difficult to spot non-whites.

My opinion is ethnicity especially black color of skin is a taboo topic in United States.

I think that Majority of US society simply loathe/hate African-Americans, but not because of the color of their skin.
If bald, with protruding ears or with  large feet group of people would behave the way African- Americans behave they would be also hated.

It is just that this group is a big problem for the society: 7 times more crime, financial burden for the federal and state budgets, hardly contribute in taxes etc.

People know that this is not their fault cause it is 200 years of discrimination etc but it is like with drug addicts, somehow you know that they are ill but this is not changing much the way you feel about drug addicts.

My opinion is open discussion about African-Americans is suppressed in US.

You are called racist if you do not toe political correctness line.

I have a simple proof of this.

I wrote about statistics from report by Department of Justice that 1 in 4 Middle aged black males are criminals in comparison to 1 to 22 White males. And that this causes racial profiling by cops that just need to be very cautious when dealing with black males the same as they need to cautious with other high risk groups like drug addicts.

I was called racist, bad person. And for the commenters claiming that I am racist it was obvious that I was behaving like racist. Theese commenters are good , inteligent people but, Americans are immersed in the culture of political correctness about African-Americans.

I do not know, maybe this political correctness is good.

I simply do not know, the above is just the observation and opinion.

I hope I would not be blocked.

The fact is, in a population of roughly 330 million, you are going to have a certain percentage of assholes, of every race, color and religion. It is to be expected, and dealt with.

The VAST majority of whites, blacks, browns, etc...in America get along and interact just fine. This does not make the ‘news’ as it is not sensational, and does not sell air time or newspapers.

What you are seeing now, over and over, is a disease of the inner cities. You do not find it in the suburbs unless it is exported from the inner cities.

The so called media is fanning the flames to keep the rioting front and center. The rioters have highjacked the narrative from the protesters. Keep in mind that peaceful protests are essentially a right in America, looting, burning and injuring innocent people is aggrevated robbery, arson and assault are criminal offenses and should be treated as such

If criminals are as* holes over 25% of black males are as*holes and only 4.5% of white males.

25% ( these are only the ones that were busted) is a significant portion of black community.

The most popular job for white Middle aged males is probably a waiter.

For the black middle aged males , I have no hesitation, I am 100% positive, this job is being criminal.

Yes, and the press, the establishment, the globalists, the educational system have about nine times the communication power. So what do they do? They demonize a fine President of the United States because he is not cooperating with their agendas. Not only that, the Deep State try to get rid of him by making up lies and giving them to the press. They also attack his supporters and try to put them in jail. Attacking the misinformation provided by the press has allowed President Trump to be more successful a communicator than President Ronald Reagan, who was about the sweetest, nicest man anyone could ask for. As Doug pointed out, it is a unique circumstance of the inner city populations, which are largely black or Latino. The stats of jailings are not reflective of the blacks who left the inner city. Hip hop culture is all about pointing out the bad behaviors and bad attitudes that bring misery on top of hard conditions. There are still many who found themselves on the wrong side of the law because they were "driving while being black", or being dressed in gang fashions near a crime scene. It isn't as clear cut as you are trying to present it.

Go learn about it.
