China Has The Ultimate Population Control Weapon

Recommended Posts

China has been working on state-backed "social credit score system" that is similar to a financial credit score but based on character and concocted from big data and artificial intelligence algorithms. If you’re an upstanding citizen, you’ll have a high score. The algorithms are intended to pick apart who your friends are and how trustworthy those friendship choices render you. Even ‘following’ the wrong person could negatively affect your social credit standing and if you are following someone who is following someone and so on, your status will be degraded. This system becomes mandatory in 2020. Wow, sounds scary, isn't it?

This is something I was always afraid of. Now social media are becoming a weapon used against us.

I don't use social media, nor Facebook, nor Instagram or any other social network. I think that private should stay private and nothing is private on these social media.

China today, tomorrow probably some other country. Who will have access to those data and how they are going to use them? Manipulation guaranteed.

Definitely creepy, especially if we add to that another surveillance, this time emotional, to monitor employee brain activity and emotions to see if they are operating at full capacity. Is there a limit for these things?

China is definitely becoming a surveillance state, entering in all private areas of its citizens helped with lack of privacy laws.

China has always been a surveillance state since Mao's time. You should read "Wild Swans" by Jung Chan, especially the second half of the book. They have simply found an automated and more efficient way-

Thanks @Gian I will certainly read it. Always curious to know how far can China go with controlling its own people.

China is far beyond Black Mirror. This social credit system has already blocked people from 11 million flights and 4.25 million  high-speed  trains. People are getting punished for their "misbehavior and state-run media with pride are showing numbers to prove how successful is their national program.
