Will Mexico Elections Mean No More Foreign Oil Friendliness?

Recommended Posts

US should be worried that Obrador, even if he's not going to undo all the energy reforms in Mexico, would use nationalist policies to (as per NYT):

1) Threatening US refinery profits

2) slowdown Texas oil production; GofM oil production

3) hit at US energy trade surplus ($15 billion in 2017)

Border wall and trade policies won't do US energy giants any favors here, either.

Let's hope not. He does have a good chance of winning, lets just hope it's all talk and no action.
