Arctic Oil at what cost?

Economy over environment? The new tax bill includes a provision to allow oil development in the massive Arctic National Wildlife Refuge ... which Big Oil is eyeing as a super prime oil venue. Passing this one off as vital to American energy independence, but at what cost?

Though not from an environmental perspective, might be able to answer the 'at what cost' question: Elsewhere in the US shale producers can in many cases break even I think at $50 a barrel, and sometimes even $40, but Arctic production will cost $60-$70 a barrel ... so it might be a non-starter unless oil prices have a fantastic turnaround.

When I think "tax reform," the first thing that comes to mind is drilling for oil in a wildlife refuge.
