Strong reaction from Iran: "Trump speech silly and superficial " - Says Iran's Supreme Leader

Iran’s Supreme Leader called U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments on withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear agreement “silly and superficial”, said he did not trust the European countries that were sticking with the agreement, and cast doubt on the future of the deal. The comments came on Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s official website on Wednesday, where Khamenei reiterated his distaste for the agreement. “I said many times from the first day: don’t trust America,” Khamenei said. And he added, “I don’t trust these three countries,” Britain, France and Germany. All three are parties to the agreement and were trying after Trump’s withdrawal to salvage the deal.

We live in a world where its beneficial to build relationships and alliances. Even Keeping the lines of communication open with countries we consider dangerous. Cutting off those lines of communication and severing relationship with other countries is a bad message because it's not diplomatic way. Especially for your allies.

How can you believe Khamanei? These guys sponsor killing innocent citizens whatever way they can. They are developing nuclear weapons right now, hidden. Time to call the Iranian regimes bluff.

I would like to see how all this will play out for example in a country traditionally stable and ally of the United States and France such as Lebanon, where after the elections this past sunday Hezbollah reached an important victory. Definitely things will get awry in the country especially with saudi arabia trying to keep its influence in the country.

Definitely, things are going to be more complicated. Middle East is in front of one of the most challenges in last few decades. Iran and Saudi Arabia are going into a total conflict. They have a few hot points where their interests are in collision...

For those critical of withdrawing from the Iranian deal, please explain if withdrawing is better for Iran, why is Iranian objection to withdrawal so strong? The Iranian intense anger at Trump's move would suggest that he took away something that they really liked. Does that not suggest that it was a bad deal for the US? Does not withdrawal set the stage for Iran  agreeing to a deal that still retains some of their "goodies" but provides enough concessions to make it attractive to the US?
