  • The attorney who helped craft the Bush administration's 2002 legal justification for torture told The Guardian he is giving advice to the White House on how President Trump could bypass Congress to impose his own policies.
  • On June 22, Yoo wrote an article arguing that the Supreme Court's recent ruling to uphold President Obama's DACA program "makes it easy for presidents to violate the law."
  • That article has been spotted on Trump's Oval Office desk, and Trump has been speaking to his top advisers about it, Axios reported on Monday.
  • Trump has recently hinted at imposing new policies on healthcare and immigration in light of the Supreme Court decision.
  • Trump told Fox News Sunday: "The decision by the Supreme Court on DACA allows me to do things on immigration, on health care, on other things that we've never done before."

You can thank President Obama for establishing the Executive Order precedent to by-pass Congress.  He issued 14 times more Exec Orders than the closest former President.

The Supreme Court upheld Obama's Exec Orders and reasoned they could not be overturned by Trump.

Was this a defeat for Trump.  Hell No.  It just gave Trump carte blanche to file all his own Executive Orders .

Trump will legalise DACA.  HE was never against DACA , rather just wanted it to be part of a comprehensive immigration bill.

The Dems have been on strike for 4 years.  Would not support any Trump bill even if it benefited all citizens.
