Sigh with relief. As Stephen Colbert said, even a wooden scarecrow would do better job than Trump did - at least it would not stop professionals like Dr. Fauci from doing their job and save people's lives. This is what Donald wants, put down the protests with the power of strength. To show what a strong and powerful leader he is (like Putin, Un, Xi, the Crown Prince) by squashing the 1st amendment using those who have sworn to protect the Constitution.

Seems like Trump's thuggery backfired - his consiglieri Barr is grilled by lawmakers for selective brutalizing of president's political opposition and violating of the 1st amendment.

A country where one district federal judge can suspend a presidential decree as in the case of immigrants is not a dictatorship.

As far as I know and  I am interested in the legal systems of various countries, the United States, thanks to a well-thought-out constitution with check and balances is rather really one of those countries where the dictatorship would rather the most difficult to introduce.

Apart from massive amount of weapons in hands of population that can end such dictatorship in the making in a violent way.

I would sooner agree that some social and legal solutions in America are a bit shocking from european perspective - somehow recently an expert summarized that the USA is by far the richest country among those that guarantee very little to its citizens, even when it comes to social rights.

But these are not the achievements of Trump, but rather the last 200-300 years of US development.

... and it's here, the presidential moron starts talking about "delaying the election". He knows he would lose, and he wants to stay in power no matter what. He did not read the 20th amendment that limits his current term to 20th January 2021, so delaying election won't make him the next president. However, he has shown his cards - he won't stop at dismantling electoral democracy and is really serious about turning the USA into a 3rd world style tyranny

You are a young man that as matter of fact really have no concept of the US 30/45 yrs ago. To speak of it now what life was like here would seem incredulos...I am not diminishing your thoughts or opinions, it is quite apparent you are well educated and have taken the personal time to understand this country.

The riots in Portland are a very good case in point, our 14th amendment lays out a clear path for such matters..

nor shall any State deprive life, liberty, or property without the due process of law; nor deny any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Portland police are not protecting citizens and property under the direction of local elected officials..denying due process which is a constitutional requirement

Portlands actions are so egregious surrounding law enforcement communities will not assist Portland police in any matters of law enforcement in the city of Portland..take the time to ponder that for a moment....

These types of events are occuring across this country, a sitting president weighs in and is called  dictator......The grey lady is wobbling a bit...only time will tell how it ends. This i can tell you many US citizens disdain such matters it brings out disgust and anger when they are provoked with such matters. Soon we shall see that anger.
