Yet years later it killed one of my dogs. Somehow it got into Walmart's own brand. It was an old dog and its organs couldn't handle it.

At my university convocation there was one (1) Canadian aboriginal who got a degree, and they made a huge deal about it. 

Was kind of sad, they invited all the band leaders, some dressed up fancy, some wore a dirty T-shit and slept on stage.

I would be amazed if 0.72% had a degree. Sadly probably closer to 0.072%.

Thank you, I thought it was the Chinese. I favor Indians because of their theistic versus atheistic tendencies. I am sure this runs counter to some atheists on this site. I realize many Chinese are quite materialistically successful in China, more so than in India. Both countries persecute Christians to some extent, but China is far worse. They persecute anyone who aggravates the CCP.

They don't have much of an obesity problem in India!  Of course, what would you expect with 2/3 of the country living in poverty on less than $2/day.

Two great articles! that everyone should read. The changes in India under Modi are remarkable. He needs to lighten up on other religions IMHO. Hopefully he will be able to reduce the poverty. It sounds even worse than I thought, as well as the basic medical care.

U.S. Political Stability Teeters. Elections in doubt. Legal challenges likely. Parties fighting. Inability to move forward. Increasingly partisan. Even the news channels are now left and right. The Courts are used to attack political rivals. The politics of criminally charging the opposition. The Senate, House and White House constantly suing each other and refusing to follow the rule of law - because the law is varied based on which court the case is heard. The LAW itself is partisan.

China - rock solid political system.  (Oh no they can't vote.  What has voting every changed in America?)

U.S. Civil Stability in shambles. Riots in the streets. The police cannot control the protests. Some cities don't even try. Civil discord, inequality and violence. 40+ murders per day, not even noticed much less commented on. States have different laws than the Nation, Cities choose to follow or not follow their own laws. Cultural divides everywhere... and are encourage, amplified and solidified by every news outlet, online forum and political party. 

China - rock solid. (Oh no they can't protest and riot in the streets, what a terrible burden on them)

U.S. Economy based entirely on dollar hegemony. FED props for every single aspect of the economy from housing to credit cards, auto loans, business debt, bonds from AAA to Junk, stock props through investment bank funding, and now simply paying people to spend money. BEFORE Covid 21% of all US household were on some sort of federal assistance. 13% of all workers work for some government agency. 20% of the nation's manufacturing workforce is in the defense industry. Company stock prices are mostly held up by stock buybacks based on near zero interest FED based loans. The total input by state and federal government spending is over 35% of the U.S. economy.

China - manufacturing based, high growth potential, organized in a capitalist/federalist coop.

U.S. Technology - trains run at 55 mph, cities still use cash and checks, clunky banking systems, the main contributor to technology is the requirement to play video games. Silicone Valley produces mostly social media platforms or consumer toy technology, not actual technology.

China - 150 mph trains to every major city, cashless society, main innovator of 5G, Artificial Intelligence, etc. 7 of the 10 world's most important technical centers of innovation in China.

On a "cashless" society:  Say you earn $1 million after taxes and you've decided to put it in the bank while you plan your next moves or decide where to invest your earnings.  Then let's say you see things are about to get difficult, let's say there's something unheard of like a pandemic, and you decide you had better put $50,000 or $100,000 under your mattress to ride it out.  In the current system, you can do this.  In a "cashless" system, you are at the whim of the bank and/or the government.;  If they lock you out you cannot get to your money.  Likewise if "they" decide to redistribute your wealth down to the poor, you cannot withdraw your funds and keep them under your mattress.  I don't like those scenarios and highly prefer getting my hands on my earnings whenever I want to, for whatever reason I want to.

Where do you get your "facts"? If you actually bother to do any actual research, you will find out that 5G is something Huawei developed first and the rest of the world cannot supply - that's why there is so much panic in the old US of A, the fear that Chinese will build the new infrastructure and it won't be "a friendly backdoor in every router" like during the times of Cisco and pals. 

In terms of patents, Chinese belong to the top 3 leading countries. The myth that "chinese just copy" is perpetuated by old farts in rocking chairs who live in 80s, but it definitely does not reflect reality.

I was in China a few years ago and was impressed how modern everything was. They are very organized and hard working. The US looks like a 3rd world country in comparison, and that was before all these insane riots. Of course, we know they also engage in serious human rights violations.

Tourists who are casual visitors should not think they have an objective assessment of a Third World country. America is a land of plenty even for the poor, if they ask for help and go to get it. China is having a hard time supplying food for their people.
