Look at heroin, who is more at fault? The poppy growers or the buyers in the States?

When China is the buyer of illegal goods, it is their fault.

When the US is the buyer of illegal goods, it is the suppliers fault.

A friendly government should be working with us to stop opiates etc. China is not a friendly government it is a fierce competitor and we need to be their opposition along with every possible ally.

No, it is the fault of the Greenies and they are run by people that are way over the thought processes and motivation of the useful idiots. Those people are globalists and socialists of all stripes. I doubt that the Canadians are much worse than the Americans.

Most of the supreme court level protests were by aboriginals.

"Normal" liberals and greenies lost their say a while ago.

Thankfully China promptly killed those people who embarrassed the country

Yet years later it killed one of my dogs. Somehow it got into Walmart's own brand. It was an old dog and its organs couldn't handle it.

The aboriginals are run by their leaders who are influenced by money and others above their level. They know they can negotiate for benefits from their position. I am fairly sure that money passes hands.

I just posted about "Indians", but think I might have made mistake. Reference might be to those with heritage of country called India, as opposed to "Cowboys and Indians"? I very much doubt that 72% of Native Americans have Bachelors Degree or higher, but I got the link from Twitter and think I was dudded as the post tried to say something political about Native Americans.

Lol you are taking data on "Indians" from India... Our local "aboriginals" are called "Native Americans" for official purposes and "Indians" when you are talking about Cowboys and Indians, or the Cleveland Indians, etc.

I believe it is very ironic Joe Biden is championing his bullshit narrative about eliminating carbon while his fkn son gets paid $60+ million for god knows what being on the board of a Ukrainian Gas Pipeline Company, anyone else see the conflict?  Maybe Biden wants to crush American industry to ensure his piece of shit son gets more money?

At my university convocation there was one (1) Canadian aboriginal who got a degree, and they made a huge deal about it.

Was kind of sad, they invited all the band leaders, some dressed up fancy, some wore a dirty T-shit and slept on stage.

I would be amazed if 0.72% had a degree. Sadly probably closer to 0.072%.

Thank you, I thought it was the Chinese. I favor Indians because of their theistic versus atheistic tendencies. I am sure this runs counter to some atheists on this site. I realize many Chinese are quite materialistically successful in China, more so than in India. Both countries persecute Christians to some extent, but China is far worse. They persecute anyone who aggravates the CCP.

Chinese dog and cat etc. eating habits offend me also. Many Indians frown on our meat eating.

They don't have much of an obesity problem in India!  Of course, what would you expect with 2/3 of the country living in poverty on less than $2/day.

POVERTY IN INDIA: FACTS AND FIGURES ON THE DAILY STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL

Dog is not too bad, if it's cooked properly.  Once upon a time in China, myself and a group of expats held a cooking session to determine if there was a "good" way to eat dog meat.  We grilled, BBQ'd, fried and stewed group portions one Saturday and it all was served with copious amounts of alcohol, of course!  The results?  While nobody went back for 2nds of any of the "meat", consensus held that it was best served in stew form.  However, we had no difficulty giving the remaining "meat" to the hotel floor staff on our way to the bar for some serious drinking.

India "frowns" on beef eating, but largely due to the Hindu belief that cows are sacred.  Sometimes I wonder: in order to start a religion, does one first need to decide which animal people cannot eat?  Gandhi had an interesting take on that:

Why the world needs to sit up and take notice of India’s war on meat

When the Indian constitution was written, a section of Hindus called for a ban on cow slaughter. The demand was opposed by liberals who said that if independent India was to be a Hindu nation then, yes, such a ban would be justified. But the idea of India was that it would be a secular nation where the state played as little a role as possible in religious matters. Every Indian citizen – whether he was a Hindu, a Muslim, a Christian, a Sikh – would have exactly the same rights.

A bespectacled Mahatma Gandhi, right, who eventually led India to its independence, laughs with the man who was to be the nation's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, at the All-India Congress committee meeting in Bombay, India. Photo: AP

The liberal position received unexpected support from Mahatma Gandhi, a passionate vegetarian. When the new nation was being formed, opponents of cow slaughter petitioned Gandhi who, they believed, would be on their side. In 1947, Gandhi wrote that his associates had received 50,000 postcards, between 25,000 to 30,000 letters and thousands of telegrams urging him to use his great moral influence to ban cow slaughter. The petitioners were optimistic because, as Gandhi himself wrote, “I have long been pledged to serve the cow.”

To the disappointment of the anti-cow slaughter lobby, however, Gandhi opposed a ban. “How can my religion also be the religion of the rest of Indians. It will mean coercion against those Indians who are not Hindus....It is not as if there are only Hindus in the Indian union. There are Muslims, Parsis, Christians and other religious groups here. The assumption of the Hindus that India has now become the land of the Hindus is erroneous. India belongs to everyone who lives here.”

Two great articles! that everyone should read. The changes in India under Modi are remarkable. He needs to lighten up on other religions IMHO. Hopefully he will be able to reduce the poverty. It sounds even worse than I thought, as well as the basic medical care.

Here is my India topic. I added both of your stories.  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bjjvSONHPNUCbLuE_n22VH2AOw8rS-sqS1E4CF14wdA/edit#

Let's compare.

U.S. Political Stability Teeters. Elections in doubt. Legal challenges likely. Parties fighting. Inability to move forward. Increasingly partisan. Even the news channels are now left and right. The Courts are used to attack political rivals. The politics of criminally charging the opposition. The Senate, House and White House constantly suing each other and refusing to follow the rule of law - because the law is varied based on which court the case is heard. The LAW itself is partisan.

China - rock solid political system.  (Oh no they can't vote.  What has voting every changed in America?)

U.S. Civil Stability in shambles. Riots in the streets. The police cannot control the protests. Some cities don't even try. Civil discord, inequality and violence. 40+ murders per day, not even noticed much less commented on. States have different laws than the Nation, Cities choose to follow or not follow their own laws. Cultural divides everywhere... and are encourage, amplified and solidified by every news outlet, online forum and political party.

China - rock solid. (Oh no they can't protest and riot in the streets, what a terrible burden on them)

U.S. Economy based entirely on dollar hegemony. FED props for every single aspect of the economy from housing to credit cards, auto loans, business debt, bonds from AAA to Junk, stock props through investment bank funding, and now simply paying people to spend money. BEFORE Covid 21% of all US household were on some sort of federal assistance. 13% of all workers work for some government agency. 20% of the nation's manufacturing workforce is in the defense industry. Company stock prices are mostly held up by stock buybacks based on near zero interest FED based loans. The total input by state and federal government spending is over 35% of the U.S. economy.

China - manufacturing based, high growth potential, organized in a capitalist/federalist coop.

U.S. Technology - trains run at 55 mph, cities still use cash and checks, clunky banking systems, the main contributor to technology is the requirement to play video games. Silicone Valley produces mostly social media platforms or consumer toy technology, not actual technology.

China - 150 mph trains to every major city, cashless society, main innovator of 5G, Artificial Intelligence, etc. 7 of the 10 world's most important technical centers of innovation in China.

I'm sorry ... what was the question?  Oh, that's right "USA all the way. Our future is bright. More Chick-fil-a's and Starbucks and TV channels will ensure our future for 1000 years..."

Great, it now takes 2X as long to get around on your 'trains' to nowhere as trains never go to your destination and you can be locked out of traveling anytime the government wants.

Cashless society, .... how dumb are you?  Great, the government can now dicatate who can and cannot live whenever they wish by locking you out.  Brilliant dude.

5G... inventor?  China?  Don't make everyone in the world laugh.  They invented nothing.  They build stuff while others invent.  Of course you would know this if you bothered to do any research on 5G or 4G or...

"Artificial intelligence" you mean government crack down and lack of civil rights is advancement?  Are you F'n kidding me?

So, you love being a dictator.  I will gladly stand and cheer when dictators are hung in the public square.

On a "cashless" society:  Say you earn $1 million after taxes and you've decided to put it in the bank while you plan your next moves or decide where to invest your earnings.  Then let's say you see things are about to get difficult, let's say there's something unheard of like a pandemic, and you decide you had better put $50,000 or $100,000 under your mattress to ride it out.  In the current system, you can do this.  In a "cashless" system, you are at the whim of the bank and/or the government.;  If they lock you out you cannot get to your money.  Likewise if "they" decide to redistribute your wealth down to the poor, you cannot withdraw your funds and keep them under your mattress.  I don't like those scenarios and highly prefer getting my hands on my earnings whenever I want to, for whatever reason I want to.

Where do you get your "facts"? If you actually bother to do any actual research, you will find out that 5G is something Huawei developed first and the rest of the world cannot supply - that's why there is so much panic in the old US of A, the fear that Chinese will build the new infrastructure and it won't be "a friendly backdoor in every router" like during the times of Cisco and pals.

In terms of patents, Chinese belong to the top 3 leading countries. The myth that "chinese just copy" is perpetuated by old farts in rocking chairs who live in 80s, but it definitely does not reflect reality.

I was in China a few years ago and was impressed how modern everything was. They are very organized and hard working. The US looks like a 3rd world country in comparison, and that was before all these insane riots. Of course, we know they also engage in serious human rights violations.

Tourists who are casual visitors should not think they have an objective assessment of a Third World country. America is a land of plenty even for the poor, if they ask for help and go to get it. China is having a hard time supplying food for their people.

China is a huge problem for America because it is our chief competitor worldwide. As a Canadian you live with lots of wealthy Chinese that are pushing you out of your own favorite apartments and suburbs. The same is true in many parts of the United States. Most of these immigrants will be great assets to both of our countries but many will be agents for the CCP. Denying that would be foolish. Quit acting like China is a friendly Panda Bear.

The US is not a competitor with anyone when it comes to telecoms.

China haven't made any pipelines, Russia have.

Why not quit acting like China is the problem for the USA, Its the USA that is the problem for the USA!
