The Bernie Sanders / Karl Marx Quiz

Recommended Posts

Since nobody on this forum read anything from Karl Marx (and use the name only for the purpose of labeling people "communists"), I don't see the purpose of doing a quiz about him.

Communism  was started by Lenin in the Third International. Marxism, Communism, Stalinism,  Maoism, Ho Chi Minh ... is the compulsory course in my home country universities for generations.

Facts about socialism:

-Israel, India, and the United Kingdom all adopted socialism as an economic model following World War II.

-Socialism is guilty of a fatal conceit: It believes its system can make better decisions for the people than they can for themselves.

-Socialism has failed in every country in which it has been tried.

Since US the most capitalism country in the world, in theory liberal think it should move to socialism soon. They should try before they buy though.

Don’t worry, calmer, rational thinking will prevail on 3 November.

Remember, you can’t lose your job, be ostrasized, or beat senseless by voting, in private, at the polling centers.

This assumes Antifa will let you enter said polling centers. Probably need to exercise your Second Amendment right while voting...

Yes, as I suspected, you know nothing. You would get a F in a politology class at any university for these "facts".

If "rational thinking" had more than an optional advisory vote in America, Trump could never become a president.

Look at you, diverting again. The biggest threat to the fair election is Trumps quite public effort to destroy the US post office, preventing large amounts of people who want to vote by mail to participate. Yet you babble conspiracy theories about "antifa".1

So I guess roughly half of the voters in 2016 were not capable of rational thinking? I suppose you can back up your statement with fact....hold on, I’m talking to a parrot. Never mind...

The biggest threat to this, or any election, is voter fraud. A standby ploy for the Democratic party who always opposes voter ID.

Have you happened to notice that during the past two weeks or so, Yahoo News has stopped accepting comments to their wildly biased ‘news’ articles? Discerning readers had the nasty habit of checking the responses to the articles to get the opposing views...these were always an order of magnitude or more to the liberal BS. Small wonder they cancelled the comment function.

I would think so, but I don't just read the title to be an expert in anything. I would have been proud that I questioned the professor too much that may make him fail me for a no-standard degree rather than keep parroting whatever he taught without any of his own input.

Politology and political science normally for the one who cannot do rational thinking and want an easy political career or media or earn a scholar  title to teach the youth. If they are smarter with logic, they would have studied Philosophy and Religion. Its funny for any book worm professor to teach people Marxism who have the experience in theory and application in the real world. These professors simply set their own degree, standard and mark people down who opposite to their believe, kind of a zealot who mark down any opinion about their theory (which can never be proven correct once). They also assume the majorities would be more stupid than them and keep thinking on how to manipulate these and  constantly got the surprise. Much easier with STEM careers where you can prove your value to the project or not.

We should pay people to actually teach our students about the realities of living conditions in socialist countries. The problem is that those people we already pay believe in socialism because they are well paid by us but teach lies.

I first noticed this policy being used in Australian news, years ago. Many leftist publications do the same here.

Some of my friends taught their children who were born in the US that way, bring them back to Vietnam to see how the kids in their age live so they can learn to appreciate what they have now instead of demanding for whatever their friends in the US have. If you  feel that you are not needed in the US, try move to the utopia you are wishing for and see if anyone need you.

Okay, let's examine closer this "shrapnel of ignorance" you have bared before our eyes, and which is seemed so very much liked. First of all, the defining characteristic of socialism (and communism, which Marx originally used interchangeably) is the ownership of the means of production by the workers. You don't obviously know that, because you have not read anything from Marx. The second defining characteristic is the division of the output of the production "according to everyone's needs and capabilities". That means that yes, the capable should get more, but nobody should be left behind barely surviving in slums without healthcare and education, like in the modern USA.

Which leads us to

Yes, if you actually did what you talk about, you would have found out that common people in socialist countries had it much better than poor people in America. They all had a place to live, they all had a job, plus access to free healthcare and education. Compare it to the situation in the USA today, where people depend on food stamps (basically a wartime measure), 40 percent do not have access to proper healthcare and abuses opiates to suppress pain instead of proper treatment, and literacy is plummeting, giving way to bizarre cults like Qanon, Flatearthers (yes, no other country in the world has a fraction who believes what astronomers refuted 2000 years ago), Trumpism, and similar mental plagues.

The system is of course capable of making better decisions than the individuals - the direct and immediate proof is the coronavirus response. While humble and relatively poor Asian and Central to Eastern European countries managed to push the virus back by implementing simple, tried measures in timely manner, in America, individualist moron snoflakes waste the collective effort by denying scientific facts, refusing to wear masks and attending "COVID parties" that are supposed to refute the virus' existence (instead ending up infected and dead).

USA now has over 170K dead, with the main cause being acute stupidity of the president and lack of discipline and knowledge among the population. Together with the acute racism, extreme inequality in wealth distribution and worsening situation of the already unbearably poor, we can see that we are watching the failure of the rabid capitalism experiment (and we can save the discussion of  the environmental damage left behind for another time), while countries based on social-democratic principles of a wealthy state that provides quality services (education, healthcare) for the broad population like the Scandinavian states flourish, with content, happy and peaceful population (as compared to the insane situation in the US where the two feuding factions do not even recognize obvious facts anymore).

Another youtube, you cannot even think yourself and keep saying other don't know anything. You can read and repeat like a parrot, but you cannot understand. Since when I confused with socialism and communism? They just take different path and scale to get to power. When they succeeded, both turned to Communism for sure to protect their power and to prevent Communism collapse and  to avoid admit that they  are incapable to manage, they start the Red Capitalism,  using quote from Marx theory stated that Capitalism is needed as a transition state to Socialism . These are proven facts in the history and happening in Communism Countries.

If you think Trump is a loser for his 7 businesses got bankruptcy, in your own definition, Marx was one. He were born in a wealthy middle class, get top education (phD) and married a noble woman (back then middle class was rare), had a good connection but ends up living bellow poverty line at age 31 and was writing and being an activist for a living, borrowed money from  his uncle a banker, and depended on Engels  for retirement. And he was in a proletarian position to write  the book criticizing Capitalism, very likely to blame that for his failure & easy working in life. And he loved to criticized people social manner for anyone disagree with him yet he had a illegitimate son with the maid. He wasn't popular as well as when he died, only 11 people attend his funeral , both families and friends. Many of his successors nowadays can do better same career than him and most of them came from nothing to millionaires but much many more of them still live in parents' basement and following his footstep, write for an agenda, and they are too, blame capitalism or inequality but  not themselves and depend on other.

Are you, a common Chinese get free food, free educations, free housing, free healthcare? Even when people are locked in their houses for isolation, they will still have to pay for the food, pay rent if you are locked elsewhere.  Capitalism learned to not over exploit working class directly  because they are afraid of working class will rise up against them, How many percent of the population live below poverty line in US vs China? And which country can provide the poor people food, shelter, healthcare, free education k12 even if they didn't work? Surely not from the value they contributed.

Where is the successful socialism country are we talking about?  Did the world ever have one? Don't tell me Norway or Sweden because they are not, their companies are private and middle class pay 50% tax.

And no leader in the world are stupid  enough to keep a book written in 19th centuries as a guideline for  a Utopia. They just use Marxism as  a bible to get the power and didn't really care how Marx lived his life.

Q: Karl Marx argued that capitalism is used to keep the rich - rich and the poor - poor.

He argue that poverty benefits the ruling class, as it ensures that there is always a workforce willing to accept low wages.

Yes, and Marx was a heavy drinker and Engels was one of his drinking buddies, the great book were discussed on the drinking table. And many "sane" politicians extensively used that as the bible to get power and because it is too easy to prove that it won't work, they will have to make a loop back to capitalism as an excuse. Capitalism is what make world technologies  changing fast in the last few hundred years, for better or worse. The main reason of that is people compete to be as rich as possible and people cannot take the rich away from them and because of that, they are working hard.  Unlike in the past, people now can choose to be lazy and enjoy life over working hard  but when they do that for a while, they feel that people take the rich away from them. The society have a new class that don't work or taking risk but want things in return. And because they didn't pay tax, they help no one who cannot work but compete for the benefits.

Yes, that's the naked, primitive core of your worldview right there. Lacking education, you confuse everything together - you parrot the phrases about "the threat of communism" after republicans without knowing what communism is (that much you have proven beyond doubt), and the "values" you hold so dear are pure, simple envy - you are probably what used to be called "middle class", but your wealth is quickly eroding, so that's why you invested into the lunatic Trump who promised you to "bring the past back", which is something only a really simple person can buy. The America is changing due to many complex and global factors, and an incompetent fraud like Trump, whose are life "achievements" including his wealth are lies and frauds, is powerless to do something about it - after all, he and his incompetence has already killed more people than world wars.

So you at least hold to your envy - you may be miserable, but you hate the thought of someone even more miserable getting something for free - a piece of bread that would prevent starvation, a free medicine that could prevent decay and death. That would be "socialism". How pathetic is that as a bottom of someone's mind, especially when you measure it by statements like "Whoever wants to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, give everything you have to the poor, and follow me. Because sooner a camel with pass through an ear of a needle, than a rich man would enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

What a striking difference - a great mind, and a pathetic mind. Jesus was a commie, leftie, right? If you read about the people who gave humanity all those new, bright ideas, they had one thing in common - they did not care about wealth, ofthen living in a poor, humble conditions. Yet morons like you call them "losers". Benedict Spinoza made his living as lens grinder, and was quite poor. Many genius-level writers were dirt poor, Phillip K. Dick had to eat dog food and lived on the street. Yet all of them will be remembered by their readers, those who appreciate their unique ideas and points of view, while pathetic hamsters like you will be forgotten. So who is really the loser here? The capitalist fat cats who profited from the ideas of others never really invented or discovered anything, because a parasite is denied the power of creation.

Soon, most of the civilized countries will have to introduce unconditional income anyway, because automation will make human labor redundant. And while your cursed "socialism" is compelled to take care even about the lowest of the low, in capitalism, the 1% owners of everything won't even have to throw you crumbs from their overfilled tables - you will be told to find a place to quietly die, because whatever you may be able to do is not needed by anyone.

Under such circumstances, where would you want to live? Or will you vote yourself into the early grave by sheer stubborn stupidity?

Did you grow up in a communism country like I did? First, second, third, forth socialism, Maoism, Ho Chi Minh ism is common knowledge here with lots of resources, a political school for officers, and propaganda, mostly imitated China's policy but because it is weak, it doesn't have much in the IP theft yet (but benefit greatly from the CD ripped) or the investment traps. I barely care about US politics 4 years ago, so feel free to insult Trump as much as you can. I approved what I think best from my own knowledge after living more than 15 years in other countries and I don't do parroting for a living.

The raw labor jobs without any expertise or depend on repeating things will be less, including parroting, but there are high demands in other advance skills which keep moving faster and faster and depend on one's ability and effort to catch up.

Currently capitalism take good care for people without money better than any Communism country aka utopia. Try stop working in your utopia and see if you can survive. People with no income can raise their kids, kids can go to school, they just want more, try it in your utopia. People here can have ER access before decide to pay the bills or not, try it in your utopia.  In any country, you can always give up your demand in smart phone, good food and go to the forest to live a hermit life. What stops you? Is it your greed and the feeling entitled to things you didn't earn, simply because you can vote?

My wife's uncle came to the US last year, 50, no English, no skills and I still can find a job for him to have insurance, pension and decent paid of started at 12usd per hour, now he worked 2 jobs and is really happy and pay taxes, fundamental of an upright citizen he will be . With GC, he had the option of doing nothing and  would feel US and capitalism is cruel, and machines replaced him and hate everyone and come back empty hands. And lots of people have US citizen feel not happy with better starting point with youth, English and have more than 20 years to build connection to find jobs?

There was no notion of left or right or commies or capitalism in Jesus time. So I cannot answer you that. N/A

I didn't have any problem because he was poor. I have problem with people who is drug addicted or alcoholic whenever they woke and let their family poor. No workplace allows unlimited drug or alcohol consuming.  How much money he could have saved from drinking and smoking to provide for his family instead of depends on friend for retirements? Where did the money to raise him up,  give him education and alcohols and cigarette  come from if not from capital of people around him? Did he ever say no to money from capitalists while spiting on them? He was not a responsible son, husband, father and citizen and his works came from the hate of how money works?
