That guy living in his moms basement is right.  If he can't / doesn't move out and get a job that is a dysfunction of your educational system, economy, and values.  Living in you parents basement is the new American dream!  Mock your fellow Amercians!

FYI Trump is not my president or "our" president, he is your president.

Go calm down with a bud light.

"Rolling coal" is still very much a thing.

I posted evidence exhaust contains pollution, not that I really needed to do that.   Everyone, even Ward, knows that exhaust contains pollution.

If you want to get angry about distortion of facts argue with Ward who makes ludicrous claims.

It may very well be a thing, but once again you not only distort but try to spread disinformation. This is not a norm on US streets and highways. Some people may enjoy this but not everyone is driving around in these vehicles.

According to science , you emit pollution too!

Kuwait aims to open what will be the Middle East’s largest import terminal for liquefied natural gas in March, according to two people familiar with the project.

The Al-Zour plant will allow Kuwait to receive 22 million tons of LNG (about 31 billion cubic meters) a year, almost doubling the region’s capacity.

Seems it would be less expensive to make a pipeline from Qatar or UAE.

Indeed I do; I just put a load down the toilet.

I hated working files about sewage discharges. Those samples stunk up the whole lab.

So Trump is in charge of the federal forrest in California. Is that correct? Did he propose spending billions cleaning forrests from dead waste or waste money on the military, giving tax breaks to the rich when we have exploding deficits or build an unneeded wall? Priorities have consequences. Sony Perdue the former Red governor of Georgia is in charge of the Dept  of Agriculture and our forrests. That boy is an airhead like Sara Palin and Michael Bachmann who attract similar airheads.

It is a lot cheaper to do that, however most GCC nations are in a diplomatic war with Qatar and therefore not buying Qatari gas or condensates. UAE has been buying condensate from the US since they stopped buying Qatari condensates.

Same with Q8 so therefore importing LNG from far away places. Whatever works!!!

What a farce !!!!!! Not all diesel vehicles emit that black smoke. Unless you are driving one of those old trucks in say Bangladesh, India, Pakistan or some places like that. Some people in the US used this system on their trucks to emit the black smoke as a sign of protest some years ago. Stop spreading your deception of the facts!!!!

That thing got ~40 MPG and looked like it was chain-smoking every second it was on. When you stepped on the accelerator it left a giant trailing diesel cloud. My friends called it Ole Smokey, nobody wanted to park next to me in the student parking lot! 9_9

A very good point has been brought up about Permian pollution. To put it in proper context, one absolutely has to compare it to the "Gold Standard" in clean, green energy. I think we would all agree that such honors go to California.

Really?

In 2018, California wildfires burned 1.97M acres of forest, emitting 68M tons of CO2 into the stratosphere that all sentient beings (and non-sentient ones too) share. The carbon particle count that year (calculated by a Berkley scientist) was said to be equivalent to all the energy (about 85% NG at the time) fed into the California statewide electricity grid.

So far, in 2020, 3.1M acres have burned. California is just now entering peak fire season. This is said to be the "new normal."

Not to pick on California but their carbon particle contribution to the world pollution seems to just keep going up--more each year. Not to beggar the issue, but this may actually be the "old normal."

Scientists have looked at prehistoric data and stated that California has burned to the tune of 4M acres/year since the outgrowth of trees and shrubs about two-million years ago. No other geographically circumscribed area in the world can come close to matching this, so if you really want to get down and dirty, California has done more toward bringing on greenhouse gas induced climate change than any other place.

The question has to arise: Should a carbon tax be issued country to country, state against state? I'm not out to slam California but I doubt that the Permian can come close to matching that long record of bringing an end to mammalian life. Existential truth may come down not to whether some idiot placed a smoker on his Ram diesel exhaust system, but whether or not someone removed deadwood from the forests.

Secondarily, should the rest of the world pay dearly for California's long and robust serial murder spree (strokes, heart attacks, COPD, childhood asthma) using the careless weapon of forest fire? During those hundreds of thousands of years of prehistoric burns of such gargantuan proportions, China, for example, was contributing almost nothing in the way of carbon particle pollution, nor was India.

Carbon pollution is nothing to be sneezed at. However, blame should be properly rationed out. Me? I strongly suspect the Sierra Club, by preaching against logging the California forests, has been responsible for more global climate change than most frackers.

😉

Fires are annoying, and forest should be better managed.

Forests are carbon neutral over the long term. Any released carbon was captured by the trees in the past, and will be recaputured again when they regrow.

California grows and exports a lot of food people actually like to eat (not corn or animal feed).  Do not wish I'll on them unless you want to pay more for your salad.

I live in comfort because I worked and managed my money well. Yes, some work is unpleasant.

I don't do any of that anymore.

I had a 70 Camaro that would do that when the latest engine was about to go.  We used it in the high school parking lot on summer nights to clear mosquitos.  I kid you not.  :)

LOL!  I just had a "far out" memory about those times/that smoke: I'd also fire it up when the town cop pulled up to see what we were all up to, and the only smoke he could smell was from my car!  LOL!  :)

I am glad I have a few hi-tech greenhouses that enable me to grow just about everything year round here in the cold and freeze zone, in winter. I get fresh corn , sweet and hot chiles and peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers etc for Thanks Giving and Christmas. Usually I come back to the freezer zone for these two holidays to enjoy the snow from inside. I even get tropical fruits from dwarf varieties.

As a Canadian were fellow countrymen but if I'm being honest the majority of liberals I know have very little success and the the majority of conservatives have alot of success.  If there was a way to compair the groups hands down conservative principles would out work liberal ones. So despite your success (that I'm happy for) I have to say I believe your on the wrong end of the argument.  Now about others talking to you a certain way I'll say either you've provoked them or they are wrong and it's not proper to keep engaged in such "conversation" . Hence my comment about being annoyed at all the green talk .... I'm on the verge of removing myself or asking others to make specific groups were it's not a green pissing contest.... I feel for those who need the communication for sanity and are being pestered by those just wanting to push in green talk. I'd say this is oil price but the authors on the site are weak at best so mabey that's why it's so green as if to be called green tech. Lib . I used to come for the price updates ... now it's for a few peoples posts and eunos shale posts.

I agree that the wealthiest people tend to vote conservative.

I am not sure that being conservative made them wealthy; rather more likely being wealthy makes you conservative.

I admit I don't like paying so much tax, and I can be rather fiscally conservative.  I am socially liberal and, of course, an environmentalist.

Some poor people see rich conservatives, and think that voting conservative will make them rich; I think that is foolish.   Rich people don't want to make you rich; if anything they will give you a job -paying you as little as possible- so they can become more rich.

The Permian Basin’s future is prosperous and bright.

with the concerted effort to harness more wind and solar to power fast-growing states as well as local operations, it’s easy to see why the Permian Basin will remain an energy epicenter for decades to come,” the PSP stated in the report.

I agree.

It took me awhile to absorb your question. Perhaps a thought, a new President in this US means a peaceful transition of power. And it is power.

It should be quite apparent that transition has not been seamlessly achieved. Frankly a world wide resistance has been formed and now being acted out.

It seems enivitable a massive uprising/civil discord is about to take place..across the world I might say. It is by no means a stretch to state we are only seeing the start of things.

Jan van Eck made a statement which is rather unusual for him in this particular set of circumstances.

"Trump does not know how to lose" he was correct. A flawed man yes, as we all are...all of us. Like it or not his uncanny gift of fundamentals is Eye Opening  at the same time yes he is reckless....Make no mistakes here it has been fundamentals that kept him relevant for 60 years..Wealth is fleeting, animal instincts are not.

This is the issue. Greed is very real. Time and time again I see people define capitalism as greed. So capitalism greed and conservative are all grouped and liberals believe that you have to oppose these bad things. But in any system the same greed can exist. I think conservative - lower tax models appeals to both business and or greed and people who like efficiency and less government waste. Where liberals appeal to environmentalists and socialists. So I think socialism should be like insurance apply if you want (not forced) also if people tried to help their neighbors instead of competing with them there would be an entirely different atmosphere. Heres a real life example all the NDP (most freebies) signs on my street last election were on the lawns of the most unlawful and ignorant neighbors (I have examples of every type of disorder they'd create). The conservative signs were on a few lawns but these people are very sweet the type youd trust to babysit your kids. So why is it that the socialist people are in fact the least socialist? Also they consumed the most fossil fuels while being "environmentalist" to me it's clearly give me handouts screw the taxpayer. So if I had to make a "type" of person in each group I'd say conservative people are the ones wanting to earn their way and therefor vote accordingly.  And liberals want to improve standards or advance/ not stagnate in current environments,  and NDP is more either mental issues and getting help that cant be obtained on their own or restarting the system (trying to make a new system that works for them-self-).  So if I were to comment to who is responsible for the work (not laws) that pay the taxes and created the quality of life we have today I'd say past and present conservatives . So mabey more percentage is wealthy from past and family and job types in addition to the lifestyle of a conservative person . Now if I were to move to entertainment (as enjoyment is very important in life - work is not everything) it would be liberal and I think it's a personality thing. Right now we know theres only so many actual free thinkers so with media being liberal this sort of middle ground person is now voting liberal (in Canada) so I think in times of labour people vote conservative to build up their life and in times of pleasure/ plenty they vote liberal for social and enjoyment influences.  Sorry for the length of text . I know it doesnt directly reply to you but it does respond more broadly.

Edit - also just thought during the once over socialism gives the government the most power so it's funny the most lawless people would be voting the most socialist group.... but again it's for the handouts (at least for these people)

While I do agree. Theres so many battles now its "pick your battle" stage. And interweb pissing contests are likley not worth the effort. I'll vote . I'll post some info on economy.  I'll highlight some obvious facts on some covid nonsense but when it gets consuming to the point it's at family conversation or making arguments it's not worth it and I'd just encourage both sides to put it down. My wife is great at blissful ignorance (in politics) and honestly it's a lesson for me at times . Apparently I'm writing novels tonight lol. But I think if recession hits hard it could wake a spirit of rebuilding and or a dropping of the political argument torch. It might mean working together with locals that have different views but its mandatory for survival.
