Trump Organization and its CFO indicted by Manhattan grand jury, report says

Published Wed, Jun 30 20217:58 PM EDTUpdated 4 Min Ago

  • The Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg, its longtime finance chief, were indicted Wednesday by a grand jury in Manhattan, The Washington Post reported.
  • The charges reportedly center around allegations of Weisselberg and other Trump Organization executives receiving benefits without reporting them properly on their tax returns, unnamed sources told the Post.

The Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg, its longtime finance chief, were indicted Wednesday by a grand jury in Manhattan, The Washington Post reported.

The indictments against the organization and Weisselberg will stay sealed until Thursday afternoon, the report said. The Post also reported, citing sources, that Weisselberg is expected to surrender Thursday morning.

Weisselberg is expected to be arraigned in front of a state judge later that day, according to the Post. The Trump Organization is also poised to be arraigned.

The charges reportedly center around allegations of Weisselberg and other Trump Organization executives receiving benefits without reporting them properly on their tax returns, unnamed sources told the Post.

Former President Donald Trump is not expected to be charge this week, the report’s sources said, but the indictments could bring possible fines and legal problems to his company. However, prosecutors hope Weisselberg will exchange testimony against Trump for reducing his own risk, another source told the Post.

A representative for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. declined CNBC’s request for comment. Trump Organization lawyer Ronald Fischetti had no immediate comment. Weisselberg’s lawyer, Mary Mulligan, did not comment on the matter.

The investigation of the Trump Organization originally was focused on how the New York company accounted for a hush money payment Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen paid to porn star Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

But since then, the probe has expanded into allegations by Cohen that the Trump Org misstated the value of various real estate assets to benefit from lower tax obligations or to receive more favorable terms on loans and insurance related to those properties.

In recent months, the Manhattan DA’s office also has eyed how various fringe benefits received by Trump Organization executives were accounted for by the company, and whether executives paid taxes on those benefits.

Fischetti in an email to CNBC last week said, “In my more than 50 years of practice, never before have I seen the District Attorney’s Office target a company over employee compensation or fringe benefits.”

“The IRS would not, and has not, brought a case like this,” Fischetti said.

“Even the financial institutions responsible for causing the 2008 financial crises, the worst financial crisis since the great depression, were not prosecuted.”

Cohen, who pleaded guilty in 2018 to multiple federal crimes, has repeatedly met with investigators from the Manhattan DA’s office to assist them with their probe of the Trump Organization.

Not a healthy environment’: Kamala Harris’ office rife with dissent

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/06/30/kamala-harris-office-dissent-497290

In interviews, 22 current and former vice presidential aides, administration officials and associates of Harris and Biden described a tense and at times dour office atmosphere. Aides and allies said Flournoy, in an apparent effort to protect Harris, has instead created an insular environment where ideas are ignored or met with harsh dismissals and decisions are dragged out. Often, they said, she refuses to take responsibility for delicate issues and blames staffers for the negative results that ensue.

“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” said another person with direct knowledge of how Harris’ office is run. “It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s---.”

The dysfunction in the VP’s ranks threatens to complicate the White House’s carefully crafted image as a place staffed by a close-knit group of professionals working in concert to advance the president’s agenda. It’s pronounced enough that members of the president’s own team have taken notice and are concerned about the way Harris’ staffers are treated.

Very tense times in the land of the Free, for now the war is limited to top officials....How far will this go?......What Lies in AZ....

It is over the socialist left and they are well aware of it, they are now losing there media platform simply due to the filth and obfuscation. America is rejecting their messaging after 5 yrs, This happened during the late 60's and early 70's...finally It dies...

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light....

CNN rattled after Trump mocks network's dismal ratings drop

Jake Tapper, who has shed 75% of his audience since January, knocked the former president on Twitter

https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-trump-ratings-drop

Matt Dornic, CNN's head of strategic communications, went even further, appearing to celebrate President Biden's administration.

"Imagine that. People are vaccinated, no longer terrified, and out enjoying their lives. If the trade-off is that every news net’s ratings are down, I’ll take it," Dornic tweeted.

CNN anchor Don Lemon expressed a similar sentiment back in April when he was asked during an interview if he was "worried about the viewership fizzle."

CNN, MSNBC'S RATINGS COLLAPSE DUE TO ‘SERIOUS CREDIBILITY PROBLEM' COVERING BIDEN, EXPERTS SAY

"No. I’m not worried about it," Lemon responded. "The reason I’m not worried about it is because it beats the alternative. The alternative of him being in there and us having to figure out how we deal with lies, and bigotry, and hate, and the toxicity that was the Trump administration. Which has nothing for me to do with my ideology or politics because people have accused me of being conservative. It has nothing to do with politics."

Once again I ask you Trump fan Republicans why you are so fixated on Democratic media. You got your own media outlets that are plenty good at their version of spin. Then there is the unfairness of media not watched. Lol That’s a bit tricky. Kind of like how all these left groups participated in the Capital riots. And Republican Congressional members don’t want to investigate them. Lol a bit tricky. Y’all are so full of shyt. Lol

Just be honest. You want Trump to be successful in his Coup attempt but if it doesn’t work you want no physical or economic consequences. You don’t want to go through discrimination pain. But if you and Trump win maybe God will let you sit next to him for a few min as a victory prize. My goodness, just how many of y’all will get to take part in the ruling. A cast of elites with the power of billionaires. You’ll be bigger than government. You’ll become the dream of Muslims, Russians, Chinese and Iranians the world over. Lol

I'm still waiting for one of you to stand up for the Xiden administration! Just one of you needs to explain how he's doing such a great job, in between naps and gaffes. I get that in your sad pathetic lives hating Trump gave you something to live for, but none of you are standing up for your president, you know, the most popular presidential candidate in history. The same one who gets a hundred to one downvotes to upvotes on his YouTube addresses. More people watching Trump on never heard of them channels than Xiden on all the MSM channels combined. Why isn't the most popular presidential candidate in history getting more likes and views? Why are you trolling here instead of supporting your hero? I just can't understand it.

We’ll he has managed to raise oil and nat gas prices to support US/local drillers. Stock prices are doing well. And as usual, following a Republican administration, the economy seems to be responding after a severe crash.
Once the insurgents have been ferreted out and the dangers of a Coup have been put to rest the fear of violence can be resolved.

The nation can get back to business. Science.

Ward thinks it is campaign season or something.

Most people don't look up politicians when there is no election coming up.  Nothing to gain by advertising now, the election is won.

Pillow man will blow all his money and energy way before the next election for nothing.  The only people listening to his noise are already Trump supporters.

You can look at the markets yourself.  They are doing better than ever.

Trump Organization and CFO charged with 15 counts in alleged fraud scheme

  •

Updated on: July 1, 2021 / 2:52 PM / CBS NEWS

Lawyers for the Trump Organization and one of its top executives pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges in a lower Manhattan courtroom on Thursday, with prosecutors alleging a 16-year scheme of fraud and tax evasion by former President Donald Trump's namesake company.

A grand jury returned a 15-count indictment against the company and Allen Weisselberg, its chief financial officer, late Wednesday evening. Prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office detailed the alleged crimes at Thursday's initial court appearance and in the 25-page indictment.

The indictment alleged the company and Weisselberg orchestrated a scheme to funnel more than $1.7 million in "indirect employee compensation" to the longtime executive from 2005 to 2021. Prosecutors said the Trump Organization failed to properly report the payments to tax authorities.

The company and Weisselberg are named as co-defendants in the indictment. Weisselberg and attorneys representing the Trump Organization entered pleas of not guilty on all counts. Mr. Trump himself has not been charged with a crime.

Weisselberg surrendered to authorities early Thursday morning and was led into the courtroom in handcuffs at the arraignment in the afternoon.

Apes took over the NY judicial system and they are putting stamps on documents  slamming gavels and investigamating those who didn't give them bananas..

The sheer corruption and single sided political "justice" in NY is going to end the state. Each such action covers its officials with more mud from the elephant enclosure. It is a boomerang policy by the Dems and will come back to hit them as contract volumes in NY fall away and people send whatever business they have there out of that jurisdiction.

They are celebrating bringing the weakest ever tax case imaginable. Another distraction and an attempt to throw bull product failing once again as it slides down their arms to soil the fake NY AGs faces.

Doofuses conflate the supposed tax evasion with the imaginary income untaxed. It works like this, if the New York case holds water (unlikely) then there's a chance taxes are owed on the 1.7 million (if that's even a real number). Given that the CFO already makes over a million a year, let's put him in the maximum tax bracket. That number is over 10 years so annually (if correct) he'd owe about $57k/yr or $570k over the ten years. Not the pearl clutching number you're quoting, but the actual tax theoretically owed.

Meanwhile you're not saying shite about Xiden.

Rent, car payments and school tuition are very easy to determine a valuation for. Taxing perks is nothing new and tax evasion cases are frequently won by the IRS.

I know people who have been audited and got dinged.

The most significant one was where the company gave my friend a interest-free mortgage.  Taxman eventually noticed and he had to pay tax on all the interest he would have paid at market rate. He also lost his sweet mortgage and had to refinance with a bank.

People not claiming a truck is common.

My friend owns a rental car franchise, famous brand. Every employee gets a brand new rental car every year, no charge. What's the value? The retail price they might rent that car out for, or their actual cost in that car (far less than you can imagine). The IRS made noises and tried to make a case. He destroyed them.

It took the political ahole all this time to fabricate a nothing burger case and fantasize a value big enough to get (mediocre) headlines. If the IRS thought this was a case they would have initiated it. That they didn't tells you everything you need to know, and it's not like the Obama IRS hasn't been a political arm of the DNC for over a decade. You think it was an accident all those billionaire tax returns got released? The IRS win loss ratio in court looks impressive, but for every case that makes it that far, they've caved on thousands. You don't get to hear about them.
