Washington D.C. Mayor Bowser demands Congress commence DC Statehood process within first 100 days of Biden Administration. Simple solution.

The Mayor argues that the citizens of D.C. do not have representation in Congress.  Good point Mayor.  

Here is the solution.

First some FACTS: 

1. The District of Columbia consists of approximately 60 square miles of land, 10 square miles of water and 700,000 residents (0.002 percent of U.S. population)

2. Of the 60 square miles of land 70% is designated Federal National Parks.  So that leaves Mayor Bowser's Washington DC consisting of massive 18 square miles of land. Which is a little more than a 4 X 4 mile lot of land.  

Mayor wants a 18 square mile of land to be made a state ?  

Mayor Bowser wants a City with 700,000 people to be a state ?

If the Mayor wants resolution .

Washington D.C. was originally part of Maryland.  

The territory now called Washington District of Columbia was originally part of the State of Maryland. Return the District of Columbia (aka Washington)  back to Maryland.  D.C will have  a state (Maryland) and have Congressional Representation. 

The 42 square miles of designated Federal National Parks will remain so. Federal Parks within the State of Maryland, City of Washington.
