My best buddy owns two homes in California and has made a fortune with them. One in Cypress and one in Apple Valley. My brother just moved from Chino Hills to a gated community (Sun Lakes) in Banning, which is now the eastern end of  Greater L.A. and just west of Palm Springs. When I lived there in 1976 the eastern end of L.A. was where I lived near Walnut and Rowland Heights. My $23,500 house is now worth 450,000!
