Politicians lied, people died

We've argued at much length about hydroxychloroquine on this site. I said it was effective and was wrongfully shouted down by the usual members here. Now the truth is leaking out and it ain't good for the gibbering class who get their marching orders from the MSM and never had an original thought in their lives. Now the only question is, do we get to charge you as accomplices to murder or do we just get to punch you in the nose for blatant stupidity, should we ever be so lucky to meet? Asking for a friend [and for some of you here, that means it is a joke].

Indeed, politicians lied and people died; the most dangerous lies came from the top politician - Trump. You repeated many of Trump's covid lies and downplayed the illness.  Do not pretend you are on the just side of the way the illness is playing out.  If anyone should be charged it is people like 0R0.

But please, keep posting links to "original thoughts" wrote by others and claim them as your own Mr. HCQ scientist.

Former New York Gov. Pataki slams Cuomo over damning report on nursing home deaths: 'This is a new low'

Official report finds number of nursing home deaths could be closer to 13,000 rather than official count of more than 8,000

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has reached "a new low" after an official report revealed state officials may have undercounted coronavirus-related deaths among nursing home residents by as much as 50%, former Gov. George Pataki said Thursday.

"For months, legislators [and] everyone [else] have been trying to get the numbers from the governor's office and they stonewalled," Pataki told "The Story". "Now we know why. They were misrepresenting it from the beginning."

Pataki added that he had warned for weeks in the early days of the pandemic that Cuomo and New York State Health Commissioner Howard Zucker were doing the exact wrong thing by ordering COVID-positive patients back into nursing homes and elder care facilities.

According to the report from the office of Democratic Attorney General Letitia James, the potential tally of nursing home deaths from the virus could be more than 13,000 rather than the official count of 8,711.

If that report ever goes mainstream it will be a very bad day for the NY govt, it is damming beyond the pale. They have Cuomo on tape stating...they did not die in the nursing home...they died in the hospital due to lack of care. Now the press gave him a Emmy Award for his portrayal...

Looks like the AG of Oklahoma thinks differently

AG Mike Hunter works to get back $2 million Oklahoma spent on hydroxychloroquine

KOCO
Updated: 7:03 PM CST Jan 27, 2021
OKLAHOMA CITY —

Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter is leading the charge to get back millions of dollars spent by the state – your taxpayer dollars – during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Part of that includes a $2 million purchase of hydroxychloroquine, a drug former President Donald Trump touted as a possible treatment for the virus. Hunter said he’s confident they can work this out with the company the state bought the hydroxychloroquine from – a company he said the state has worked with in the past.

Oklahoma was one of several states to purchase hydroxychloroquine during the early stages of the pandemic, as there were talks about whether it could be an effective treatment for COVID-19. But with little to no evidence it had any effect, the attorney general’s office is working to return those pills to the company from which the state purchased them.

“I think the very practical approach we’ve taken is to work with the company, find a purchaser and recoup the state’s money,” Hunter said.

Gov. Kevin Stitt’s office said in a statement Wednesday that “every decision Gov. Stitt makes is with the health and lives of Oklahomans in mind, including purchasing hydroxychloroquine.”

Enjoy your mythical treatment turned out to be just that a myth.

With regards to the use of hydroxychloroquine, the following article is one of the best I have been able to find on its trajectory from the start of the outbreak until the 1st of December.  You might want to get your reading glasses, it's a long article but well worth the read IMHO.

The last week has been a blitzkrieg of the democratic party stance and messaging, along with corporate america taking taking sides and action. Within a few weeks one will see lawsuits and a assaults on the democratic party. Cuomo is a easy target and the republicans need a few easy wins. I am quite sure he will be the first to fall. All is not as it appears, right now the the Lincoln Project members are being dealt with..Expect more than a few surprises including Democratic defections.

I had seen the release of the New York AG report on Cuomo's handling of the virus.  Here is the article containing the video of the meteorologist that lost family.  Up in the region of 13-14,000 nursing home patients died.  You've got to watch the video, if only to hear Cuomo's response.

You quote Jim Hoft as your source of truth?  According to Wikipedia:

"The Gateway Pundit is an American far-right news and opinion website. The website is known for publishing falsehoods, hoaxes, and conspiracy theories."

The following is a recent article in The Lancet, a well respected medical journal. Basically, there is no benefit of using hydroxychloroquine.

The poor AG in Oklahoma bought the lie that hcq was completely ineffective, not to mention that the corrupt bunglecrats in the FDA purposely took it off the table. You'll notice he didn't say it didn't work, he just said they never used it and just want a refund. It doesn't even warrant a lawsuit.

Meanwhile, as the facts trickle out, we're going to find that hcq while not a perfect treatment helped well over 80% of the patients who took it. Compare and contrast with the other so called treatments, which had efficacy rates in the single digits. But yeah keep quoting debunked sources and keep blaming orange man. The truth has a way of finding daylight eventually and rubbing your noses in it is highly amusing to us.

The poor AG in Oklahoma bought the lie that hcq was completely ineffective ????? THe fact is Oklahoma bought the junk based on a hope and now are stuck with junk. The AG has been tasked with getting their money back from the hucksters that sold it to them. Sad that hucksters are still try to push the junk today.

For sale in Oklahoma: a large stockpile of hydroxychloroquine

Last spring, the Oklahoma Department of Health purchased a stockpile of hydroxychloroquine for $2 million after former President Trump promoted the use of the antimalarial drug as a treatment for COVID-19, despite a lack of evidence. The health department is now trying to sell the drugs.

Last spring, the Oklahoma Department of Health purchased a stockpile of hydroxychloroquine for $2 million after former President Trump promoted the use of the antimalarial drug as a treatment for COVID-19, despite a lack of evidence. The health department is now trying to sell the drugs. Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter was tapped to assist the department, according to Alex Gerszewski, a spokesman for Hunter. Gerszewski says the state wants to either sell the hydroxychloroquine doses back to the company it purchased them from, CA-based distributor FFF Enterprises, or to another buyer. Oklahoma has been attempting to sell its stockpile for months, according to a July report by a local news station. In the early days of the pandemic, FDA granted hydroxychloroquine emergency authorization for use in very sick COVID-19 patients. However, follow-up studies indicated that the antimalarial drug did not facilitate recovery, nor did it prevent healthy people from contracting COVID-19 or progressing to a more serious state. FDA cancelled its emergency approval for hydroxychloroquine in June.

Here's a little ditty, @notsonice

Results

A total of 43 reports were found that examined HCQ treatment for COVID-19 patients. Twenty-five reported positive clinical efficacy from providing HCQ to for COVID-19 patients; 15 showed no improvement with HCQ and three showed worse clinical results in patients who received HCQ.

Eleven studies in our review examined HCQ efficacy in patients in the outpatient or ‘day hospital’ setting; all reported positive results [8]. However, in two of the studies [9,10], the positive results, while clinically important (decreased risk of hospitalization and improvement in symptom resolution), were not statistically significant.

We found 32 reports of HCQ treatment in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Of these 32 reports of hospitalized patients, 14 reported good results, 15 reported no improvement and three reported worse results. Fourteen studies reported the time during treatment during which HCQ was initiated. In nine studies, HCQ was administered within 48 hours of admission. In six [[11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16]] of these nine, improvement was noted. In three, no improvement was noted [3,17,18]. In five studies, HCQ was administered more than 48 hours after admission or in the intensive care unit (ICU). In two [19,20] of these five improvement was noted. In three it was not [[21], [22], [23]]. In 18 studies, the time of administration was not specified.

Seven of the 43 total studies [12,17,20,[24], [25], [26], [27]] were chartless retrospective studies that used only billing codes. These studies all allowed initiation of HCQ treatment at times that differed with initiation of the control treatment, with HCQ presumably being chosen at the physician's discretion in worsening patients who were more in need of treatment. All such studies were thought to exhibit selection bias against a positive result. Four additional studies [9,10,15,16] had positive trends towards efficacy that did not reach statistical significance. In one study [22], 8% of the treatment group was untreated but not excluded from the treatment group calculations. In addition, the median level of treatment was only 67% of the specified treatment. Nineteen of the 43 reports were preprints or otherwise not peer reviewed. Twenty-four of the articles were from peer-reviewed journals. Of the 11 outpatient reports, all of which reported positive results, seven were peer reviewed and four were not. Of the 32 hospitalization reports, 17 were peer reviewed and 15 were not. Overall, 12 (50%) of the 24 peer-reviewed reports and 11 (58%) of 19 non–peer reviewed reports showed positive efficacy.

Some studies provided HCQ alone; some included the addition of AZ and/or zinc. No difference in outcome was observed with the addition of AZ (Table 1), although all of the outpatient studies that provided AZ had positive results. There were no deaths reported as a result of HCQ, AZ or zinc treatment. Increased QTc was seen but not torsades de pointes (TDP). Adverse events that were thought to be likely due to HCQ treatment were not life threatening.

How do you figure I am against HCQ?

Regardless, it is very old news, better drugs are now available.

Furthermore, addition of zinc and/or antibiotics confounds the data significantly.

Actually, no, it was directed properly the first time.
