I think that the quickest way to stop the rampant outsourcing of American jobs is to tax corporate profits regardless of where they are made.

I can see that President Trump is being encouraged to stay strong in NAFTA negotiations by people who aren't normally his allies. Bernie Sanders demands that the president keep his promise to drastically overhaul the agreement. Everything is possible now

Well, domestic corporations prefer protectionism over free trade. Free trade increases competition, and thus lowers profit margins. After all, NAFTA is not the problem but is being made the scapegoat for lost jobs.

NAFTA will always have problems due to the error made in creating it. We do not treat labor as a component of trade. We restrict workers with visas and passports and ICE type organizations. When workers of all three countries can pass freely across country boundaries like other trade, then NAFTA may work as intended.

You may not realize it, but there is a limited supply of skilled employment. Also, we can say that Americans are lazy for certain jobs and workers from outside are needed

If a trade deal doesn't benefit all the people, why have one at all

Negotiations are in the crapper because Trump keeps changing his mind about conditions.
