The latest GOP nonsense on Texas shows us the future Republicans want

If Cruz is the best the GOP has to offer, the GOP is doomed. The grid meltdown, or should I say the freeze up of mainly gas pipelines feeding Nat Gas power plants and then Ted fleeing to Mexico shows that the GOP in Texas will have a rocky road in 2022 and  2024. If Beto runs against Cruz in 2024, I expect Cruz to lose as Cancungate will not be forgotten. Texas has a hard choice right now to get rid of their island mentality and join the regional US grid or to really regulated all energy (IE real planning for electrical production and real oversight. As far as Ted, he really is a loser that should not be in charge of anything.

The politicians currently running the show had nothing to do with the fiasco. ERCOT, which was created back in WW2 era. knew of the impending bad weather, and did nothing to winterize for it. The ERCOT board is made up from people from all over, including foreign countries(One is from Germany). They cannot be sued as they have laws in place preventing that.

As for Cruz, he mar lose his re-election bid over this, but it Won't be to Beto. Beto sealing his fate when he said he would take all the guns away. Bad move in the state with the most guns in it.

"DeRosa said, according to a transcript of a Feb. 10 meeting with state legislators. "The governor speaks on a regular basis with Dr. [Anthony] Fauci and Dr. Michael Osterholm. I would say those are two of the people that are chief advisors."

Maybe Fauci should be charged with Manslaughter also.

Fauci helped get the funding to the Wuhan lab. He was wrong on almost everything he said or did. He has been given additional powers by Biden and has agreed with Biden that the W.H.O. should get full funding and is a reliable ally in the fight against disease worldwide. That says it all to me. Both are globalists and unworthy of their positions. The W.H.O. covers for China and is in league with them and other countries that are not our friends.

ERCOT can advise the utilities to do something, but they have no authority to force it to happen. They advised winterizing a decade ago and the utilities took it "under advisement". Then in their letters to shareholders, they talked up what a great job they were doing reducing CO2 and being such great stewards for the environment. That's where they spent their money, overpaying for wind power and believing all those NASA predictions saying it was going to be hotter than ever. NASA lied, and every time they say, "hottest year on record" it's a new lie, based on fuzzy math and statistics legerdemain.

A senator wading into a infrastructure  fiasco on day 3?

I have to agree.  What do you expect a US Senator to do during such a crisis?

Leave.

There will be plenty of time for him to push for legislation to help Texas out with Federal funds.  Just watch.  It will be an amendment to the COVID relief bill to make it pass.

Isn't that called Socialism?

Whoever in Texas HAS that authority had better ENFORCE it.  Or else.

Shareholders?  I thought ERCOT was a non-profit.  Oops, perhaps you meant the market players.

I don't know about Global Warming.  It does appear that weather is becoming more "energetic".

Anyhow, I see ERCOT is only about 24 seconds behind real time, they are recovering very well.

I would love to see the minutes of the meeting of THIS group. Looks like they have not produced anything since 2016.

Since @Jeffrey Brown wrote a title taking a potshot at "GOP nonsense" I'll just fire one back at democrat nonsense. And remember, this guy ostensibly received Millions more black votes than even Obama. Jeffrey doesn't want to talk about that, but he'll drag out some liberal rag quote that has nothing to do with anything instead.

YouTube already deleted this, of course but here's 20 devastating seconds Xiden wants back lol

I agree that you have done a good job of perpetuating the "Big Lie" about a non-existent stolen election and thus avoiding a reckoning regarding Trump delivering the White House, the Senate and the House to the Democrats.

As previously noted, one wonders if your efforts are actually in support of Democratic efforts in 2022 and 2024?

WSJ Editorial Board:  Trump Lost to Himself

His own pollster shows why he became a one-term President.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-lost-to-himself-11613691782?mod=hp_opin_pos_2

Excerpt:

Donald Trump  launched a personal attack on Mitch McConnell this week after the Senate GOP leader called the former President “practically and morally responsible” for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Mr. McConnell doesn’t need our defense, but we hope GOP voters aren’t buying Mr. Trump’s attempt to rewrite the history of the 2020 election.

[....]

Mr. Trump didn’t lose to Joe Biden. He lost to himself.

I am a leftist/progressive, I contributed to Tulsi Gabbard only.  As I watched ads on YouTube, both Biden's and Trump's ads were cheap demagoguery.  Biden: "Everyone is entitled to dignity".  So?  Dignity is not bestowed by politicians.  Trump: marching Chinese soldiers and ominous "Biden is just too weak."   Biden is indeed weak, but if he is reluctant to start a hot war with China, that is rather good.  A clash of two heavily damaged titans.  On COVID-19, Trump could check what Putin was doing -- he left the talk about COVID to the ministry of health, with some exceptions.  On foreign policy, Trump should hire people from CATO or similar, rather than Bolton, Pompeo etc., and deliver on some of his election promises.  On domestic policies, he also should find some people who would believe in re-industrialization, a better way to provide health insurance etc. and run through some achievements.

Didn't anyone watch the video? If Trump had said what Xiden did, there would have been nonstop screaming and crying from every news outlet. The hypocrisy is disgustingly deep, which is why Jeffery is hiding and will start a new thread rather than face the music here.

The guy in that video is a great actor.  I know that, you know that, Joe does not know that.

Why does it always appear to be "the lesser of two evils"?

Even Thomas admitted that the ballots in question would not have affected the outcome in Pennsylvania.

He had no data to make that supposition. Had he taken it further, and said that it was enough, that would have created even more conflict, so he played it with a light touch. The court can't know what it hasn't examined, and the answer today was that it wouldn't be examined. Ammo box is coming whether they like it or not. You haven't answered how that racist bastard Xiden got more black votes than Obama. Watch the video, eat some crow. Get back to me

Odd commentary, yet not at all surprising. My commentary merely reflects your lack of understanding of just how the US structure actually functions. Most US citizens would be well aware of the fact state Govnerors call in FEMA which this governor actually has.

Cruz at this point would merely get in the way, muck things up with grandiose interviews, town halls perhaps..any politician would merely be a nusance.

Let the storm end, then cry havoc.

So AOC brings in 5 million from out of state and delivers help to Texans. There appears to be a different structure for some.

Good for her, a note here Boat. What she did was NOT part of the structure, very much out of the box at that. Yes Boat there is always different structure for some, and alway's will be, since the beginning of mankind actually.

Meaningless political posturing.  I'm confident not one thin dime will make it to any Texan in actual need. Garcia will pocket the proceeds, never to be seen again. But they suckered you into their little game so it worked. Let's say 5 million people were affected by this outage. $1 apiece? Starbucks Gift cards? Amazon? Which fascist corporation will they share the largesse with?

Meanwhile, her Green New Deal looks like A green lead balloon
