It's illegal because the reason for the strike, lower taxes, cannot be provided by their employer. And yes, they have to work or be fired, and the union will be fined. jose chalhoub + 388 May 30, 2018 I might be slightly wrong with this, but this situation kind of reminds me of what happened with the strike of oil workers of PDVSA ( i know that this strike was merely political by the top ranking and managers and executives against Hugo Chavez) but this is like the first time or a rare event by PETROBRAS workers and also in an electoral time for Brazil..
