Smog? Acid rain? These are not in the atmosphere? Right, Jay, more strange logic here from your sources.

These are all atmospheric, it seems. That supports my point, in case you do not realize it.

Note that  your source is out of date, these are all associated with old technology.

Again, a generic description does not necessarily apply to each item. Waste products are not "emitted"...if they extend beyond the owner's property, that constitutes "dumping", which is an actionable trespass under law. In public discussion under law, "emissions" refers to atmospheric emissions.

Yeah but for how long Jay?

Honestly how long do the Tesla battery back ups last for before they run out of juice??

How long is Australia going to put up with this, when battery storage can provide immediate grid support in order to prevent a total grid collapse??  Loose only 845 MW from two coal units (fire?  Hydrogen leak from the geneator(s))?

I guess some might blame wind turbines freezing up.

Actually, it sounds like the turbine lost a last stage blade/bucket (or similar sudden mass imbalance) and it was all downhill from there (excessive shaft vibration, wiped out hydrogen shaft seals, hydrogen and oil escapes, starts a massive fire, many months to repair).

After America’s big freeze, Texan legislators are determined to restore reliable power generation sources, by hitting unreliable wind and solar with a raft of punitive fees and charges.

Whereas wind and solar have enjoyed massive subsidies (in the US, principally the Production Tax Credit, as well as state-mandated feed in tariffs), the reliable generators (nuclear, coal and gas) have been relegated to second place on the grid, thanks to the subsidies paid to wind and solar, which allow them to undercut their (unsubsidised) competitors.

Texas in its rush to go Trumpism is a gov signing away from allowing guns with no restrictions or training. That should stop the killings eh? I’ll get me two revolvers, ammo belt and Mexican sombrero with a t shirt that reads, I target no mask idiots.

You can be assured that @markslawson is busy writing an article blaming this on renewables.

Not sure of your point.  Mexican bandits do not pay attention to TX state law, nor do our own home-grown criminals.  I do not own a firearm but regularly give thanks that (a) criminals dont know that and (b) my neighbors do, and the criminals take heed.  More law abiding citizens with protection will be a good thing, especially if the culture is to encourage them to practice and to take gun safety seriously.

BTW, I never once heard Trump suggest that a state should eliminate all gun restrictions... I suspect you suffer from TDS (even months after being cured), why didja bring his name in to this?

Well, the Green Dream has the support of fully 1/3 (33%) of Americans, which shows that most people are not in an abject state of panic. Most people can still think and plan in a rational way.

Big problems with the EU plan to implement carbon-reduction fanaticism. As in California, it is the poor people who get stuck with the disproportionately big bills to pay for the Green Dream. And now the whole EU plan is unraveling before it even gets off the ground, reality is beginning to sink in.

A great summary of our current energy tragedy!

There is a bigger concern.  A great YouTube channel is Climate Discussion Nexus.  Dr. John Robson is a history professor based in Ottawa.  He generally reviews published "scientific" climate change information and points out fallacies and gaps in information.  However he recently posted a video about China 2050, The Red-Green Menace.  He clearly shows how the Green New Deal plays into China's stated goal of world dominance.  In spite of the tons of propaganda on the web about China caring about climate,  they completed a 1700 km double track railway in 2019 to haul 200 million tons of "dirty" coal annually to the approximately 100 coal fired power plants they are building.  That is a long term commitment if I ever saw one!  Judge the tree by its fruit. Dr, Robson points out how the greening of the west plays into China's plans for dominance.  The real rub is that carbon dioxide is NOT that critical.  Global Warming is part of the UN theme of sustainability.  Look up UN Agenda 2030.  Maurice Strong, to Al Gore to the WEF, the Global Warming and Climate Change scare were created so the "Globalists" could "save" us.

Some REAL scientists are Dr. Elliott Bloom and Dr. Willie Soon on the Independent Institute channel.  One segment is Global Warming: Fact or Fiction.  Also check out Cold Science, Global Warmings Unfinished Debate, Dr. William Happer.

In summary, when thinking about energy security, no one should have all their eggs in one basket.  Green policies are detrimental to a free market balance.  Green tax payer dollars will just flow into some insider pockets, and China wins in 2050.

Check out sources soon.  Bill C-10 in Canada will create a government agency to censor the internet.  Globalists don't want us to share facts and opinions.

This is all bullshit, These large solar systems with hundreds of panels in the desert is a major problem, they are adding to the SO CALLED climate issues, the EV range from 115 miles to 412 Mile’s starting at base price meaning ( Striped Down Piece of Shit ) from $33,000 going up beyond $75,000 and if really want comfort up to $140,000! China is burning more coal now more then ever with just that country at about 60-70% of all emissions and then add India and see where we are at!

Mean while the U.S. is become dependent on Middle East oil AGAIN and brain dead pedophile Uncle Joe and our nappy hair VP approved the completion of Pipeline from Russia to Germany, fucking over our NATO Alliance members, Germany doesn’t care because they still have People in power that are closet Nazi’s and will fuck over the EU at the drop of a hat! Germany only cares about Germany, The same Philosophy we in the United States should have and demand! The United States people are being screwed like a $3.00 dollar whore by the DemocRats selling there asses for cash.

So we close and won’t allow our own pipeline from a major source, Canada, Can’t depend on Mexico and DemocRat’s are shredding our energy Independence.

This is going to end badly because the average Americans will not tolerate this bullshit for much longer! Additionally these DemocRat’s have weakened our military presence abroad so badly there will be another war in the near future and with the presence of AI coming increasingly more integrated this war will get out of control quickly.

Iran is giving everyone in the Middle East a big Fuck You and Israel will not and does not have to have our sign off to go nuclear and have no respect for the current wimps heading the United States as does Russia which is flagrantly giving this Administration the middle finger because they know the wimps they are.

So let’s spend Trillions on this World Wide PONZI SCHEME all the while in behind closed doors abroad they are laughing there asses off at us!

This is of course another of your lies. Our net imports remain far lower than they did for the first 3 years of Trump. Only during the pandemic year were they better.

Oil imports from Saudi Arabia are lower than any of Trump's 4 years:

Allowing China to continue to use fossil fuels gives them an enormous advantage over that of free nations which are naive enough to follow IEA type guidelines, United Nations guidelines, Paris Accord guidelines etc. The free world is being conned into making disastrous steps that will destroy their competitiveness worldwide. They are idiots living in a fantasy world of communist propaganda and leftist illusions.

1. Wildfire liability and mitigation costs are being passed to the customers. PG&E filed for bankruptcy in January 2019, facing liabilities from multiple catastrophic wildfires that were caused by its power lines in Northern California. The fires collectively led to more than 100 deaths and burned over hundreds of thousands of acres; when it filed for bankruptcy, the company estimated that its liabilities could amount to $30 billion.https://www.utilitydive.com/news/pge-exits-bankruptcy-but-long-term-wildfire-risk-could-put-it-back-in-th/581017/

2. Volumetric and net metering rate policy that we are working on redoing for roof top solar. Roof top solar customers are being over compensated.

3. Utility scale renewables are not causing high retail rates:

California’s high electricity prices have been attributed to its aggressive adoption of renewable generation under the Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) program. In 2019, all electricity retail sellers had an annual target to serve at least 29 percent of their electric load with RPS-eligible resources. Under this RPS, utilityscale solar and wind generation capacity had reached almost 12,000 MW and 6,000 MW, respectively, by 2018.22 To the extent that qualifying renewable resources are more expensive, the RPS mandate will increase the cost of electricity generation. The CPUC tracks RPS and nonRPS procurement expenditures in terms of $/kWh and annual RPS revenue requirements. RPS procurement costs have fallen at a rate of 13 percent per year between 2007 and 2019. In 2019, the average RPS energy contract price across all technology types was $28/MWh. As renewable energy technology costs have fallen, so has the above-market premium for renewable energy generation. The average difference in RPS versus nonRPS procurement costs reported by the large investorowned utilities had dropped to $0.0028/kWh in 2019

Dividing the utility-specific RPS revenue requirements by the corresponding RPS procurement cost (per kWh) yields an estimate of the quantity of electricity procured to comply with the RPS mandate. This quantity was then multiplied by the reported RPS cost premium to estimate the additional generation costs incurred to meet RPS obligations. Assuming that 40 percent of RPS compliance costs are recovered from residential customers, the impact of the RPS mandate on residential retail prices (in terms of $/kWh) can be estimated. On a per kWh basis, these residential rate impacts of RPS compliance are small. In 2019, SDG&E paid no price premium for RPS-eligible procurement. The authors estimate average residential rate impacts per kWh of $0.006 and $0.0001 for PG&E and SCE, respectively. These cost differences for renewables comprise a very small part of the generation component of the upper staircase in Figure 4a-c. The large “Generation Fixed Costs” boxes for all three utilities represent contracts and utility-owned generation at costs well above 2019 market prices for all types of generation.

4. Renewables are paying their way just fine.

Taxpayers and utilities customers are paying for the green nightmare. The whole green dream needs to slow down or it is a guaranteed nightmare.

China will be rapidly ramping production and then it will be cheaper than ever in about a year. We do need to do something about keeping western production competitive.

I wonder how much pressure will develop against gas because of methane leaks?

Buying something we don't need from China makes no sense. They are the ones who need to use their solar panels and wind turbines. They are the big polluters, we can make the fastest progress by using our own natural gas in vehicles. Natural gas is the solution, not the problem. Wating it is also a problem.
