the EU is throwing up its hands in frustration and public financial bankruptcy. ???????? my my so much drama out of you these days.......

How many storage battery facilities have gone bankrupt?????

once again you have proven yourself to be nothing but a drama queen

in the mean time the transition to renewables is happening at full speed....

enjoy the future.....Coal is not part of it......

Read the articles above on EU public debt crisis before you babble on.

Coal demand is ramping up worldwide, you just can't beat that coal for a reliable affordable and easy energy source.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Coal/Why-The-World-Just-Cant-Kick-Coal.html

"Despite the decline in the US, global coal consumption, especially in Asia and China, which consumes 55% of the world's coal, continues to rise due to the relative cheapness and abundance of coal, and rapid industrialization.

Coal demand rebounded in the US and EU in 2021 and 2022 due to the European energy crisis and increased coal burning as an emergency measure, raising concerns over the ability to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions."

dude you really are a drama queen

Coal demand rebounded in the US???? dead cat bounce........ 2023 and consumption is down 30 percent....battery storage will wipe out whats left of coal along side with bankruptcy for coal companies....price has crashed

and the EU on coal consumption...got any numbers for 2023....???? or you on the side with drama queens again???

Renewables is wiping out coal in the US and the EU and all you have is a dead cat bounce in 2022. Guess you think an increase of 2 or 3 percent above 2020 is a reason to celebrate?????? sober up and look at the chart....EU coal is doomed

Your usual ridiculous stuff, here is the real story.

"China, for example, consumes 55% of the world’s coal, and that consumption continues to rise. As a whole, the Asia Pacific region is responsible for 81% of the world’s coal consumption, as well as the vast majority of the world’s ongoing carbon dioxide emissions.

China’s coal demand has increased for six straight years, setting new record highs in 2021 and 2022. Current heat waves in China have created a soaring demand for electricity, leading to unprecedented amounts of coal consumption at China’s more than 1,000 coal-fired power plants. As a result, China is on track to set a new record high for coal consumption in 2023.

This trend is set to continue. Last year the Chinese government approved a record-breaking 86 gigawatts of new coal-fired power capacity. This raises significant doubts about whether China can meet its emissions goals by 2030."

Are you a Chinaman????

China is set for a new record?????? and the US and EU are set for new lows enjoy it

China is installing record amounts of Renewables.... Real installations not just making plans.....

and you??? praying for a dead cat bounce in consumption to beat 2014 global consumption yet?????

9 years later and your hoping for a dead cat bounce....that is a long time for a slow one to pray for a dead cat bounce

long run Coal is dead, even the Chinaman know this.

building a plant is your hope.. China also has 60 million empty apartments.....with coal plants to power them.......You know ghosts do not need electricity.......Build more empty apartments build more coal power plants ....stranded assets

China recession will not end any time soon.....

and do not worry, in the US, real Patriot Americans,  are doing our part to wipe out coal........only idiots want more coal consumption

What do you think will happen to coal consumption in the US in 2023??? 2024??? an increase ???....ha ha ha

Posted below is the future in the US, enjoy it... PS notice nat gas plants are also being scrapped .......

and bigger yet do you see any renewable project getting scrapped ?????

Chinaman you still hoping for a dead cat bounce??????.....so cute.....but reality ......you lead a lonely life waiting for the Coal Queen to knock on your door.......

reality China will add 220 GW of renewables in 2023 (that is add not planned)

they will add 25 GW of coal as backup power to the newly added renewables

Guess which one will provide power and which one will be sitting idle in the background waiting waiting waiting like the empty apartments in China waiting for a tenant. Those empty apartments like your new power plants will just end up being taken down by a wrecking ball never to see any use........

and next year 300 GW of renewables....

Peak Coal happened in 2014...you keep hoping for your dead cat bounce.....save you dirty old hanky as it has been soaking up your tears for 8 years now hoping for a new peak......Eternal losers usually give up after a few years....You are the King of Hopeless Losers.

Enjoy renewables and storage it beats coal time and time again

You are 100% correct here and the amount of renewables they are actually commissioning and have in planning phase is truly staggering. The coal plants long term are just back up for droughts and wind droughts which is actually sensible, I just cant understand why they are going coal as back up when NG would be a much better solution.

Actually, China is adding energy. All kinds of energy because they are way behind where they need to be for their total citizenry to be supplied adequately. There is nothing magical about renewable energy for them. It is just part of "all of the above." They are working to get their people supplied.

The West is working to get off of "fossil" fuel and use electricity from "renewable" methods that have a handy on/off switch to de-industrialize  gain the full control of their citizens to get them into chains like China.

The "climate" science is nothing but political science or "experts" wouldn't be "correcting" data from the past and they could use their so-called models to match historic (not corrected) weather records from the past.

Governments are wasting incredible amounts of natural resources to finalize their control. All of the climate "activists", physical or "experts" are useful idiots helping them. It is astounding how being so much more educated can make some people so notsosmart!!!

  • It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
  • Every generation is a little more removed from nature, so sometimes it takes someone that works with nature as his ancestors before to remind people of history (in any field) is nit quite what the experts say. This has certainly been the case with climate change.
  • When you grow up with and know people that have lived through global warming, global cooling, global warming, global cooling, and global warming again, you realize it is all cycles.
  • People normally have little effect until you start changing air movement (wind generation) or absorbing and creating more surface heat (solar farms and asphalt).
  • The sun actually does make a difference and pollution such as smoke and smog do have an effect. CO2 makes trees and grass grow better so that they actually help cool things.
  • "Climate scientist" haven't gotten a prediction right yet, no use bowing down and worshiping them now. Volcanoes and earthquakes are a lot more powerful and make man and his effects infinitesimal by comparison.
  • Also, follow the money. The answer is ALWAYS more taxes, less freedom, and more governmental control. Do you really think a bureaucrat in a nation's capital knows how to live your life better than you do. I highly suspect you are by far the better between the two choices.

What makes the world go around? Why, of course, good old gasoline.

Demand for gasoline is ramping up as people decide to drive their automobiles.

In Europe there is a sharp disconnect between rhetoric and reality.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Gasoline-The-Price-Rally-That-Nobody-Saw-Coming.html

"In Europe, governments had to step in last year and subsidize fuels amid the energy crunch and the following embargo on Russian crude and fuels. The move drew a lot of criticism from transition advocates who argued the EU is essentially selling out to the oil and gas industry by encouraging the use of its products.

Yet those governments that implemented the subsidies knew very well what they were doing: they were avoiding riots by millions of drivers whose living standard depends quite a lot on affordable fuels."

"That and the shutdown of refineries in the past few years on both sides of the Atlantic have combined to create a tight supply picture even as governments consider bans for gasoline-powered cars.

While they consider these bans and even vote on them, consumption is on the increase. Bloomberg reports that gasoline consumption in France, Germany, Spain, and Italy is on the rise."

Not necessarily, this research is not an attempt to refute any particular item in the agenda of the climate alarmists. It simply attempts to put the elements into proper perspective and to compare the relative importance of different contributors to greenhouse gas climate change. It is unbiased research, the combatants in the climate science field on either side do not look for unbiased work to embrace.

It is consistent with other work done on the significance of H2O and clouds in the global climate change.

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/334093488_Intensified_East_Asian_winter_monsoon_during_the_last_geomagnetic_reversal_transition

The Japanese team commented,

"“The Intergovernmental IPCC has discussed the impact of cloud cover on climate in their evaluations, but this phenomenon has never been considered in climate predictions due to the insufficient physical understanding of it,” Dr. Masayuki Hyodo of the University of Kobe.
Hyodo added that “When galactic cosmic rays increase, so do low clouds, and when cosmic rays decrease clouds do as well, so climate warming may be caused by an opposite-umbrella effect. The umbrella effect caused by galactic cosmic rays is important when thinking about current global warming as well as the warm period of the medieval era.”

The low cloud cover is caused by increasing cosmic rays reaching earth due to changes in the earth’s magnetic field."

A Finnish study reached similar conclusions.

https://arxiv.org/pdf/1907.00165.pdf

This research is consistent with the studies correlating cosmic rays (ie. solar variables) with earth temperature change. So now the pathway is solar radiation impacting earth atmospheric H20 impacting earth temperature change. The other work above showing the overwhelming significance of atmospheric H2O as a driver of climate change can be related into a larger model of solar activity with the transfer mechanism now elucidated.

Quote:"....... atmospheric H2O as a driver of climate change...."

Uhhh... We must be clearer in what we are saying related to that phrase...

According to reports, the trendiest research last year to counter climate change has been to remove water vapour in the air...

Those funded research collect water from the air in UK, US,  Saudi etc... It could be dew drop net, water gather- filter machine etc....... They claimed it could:

a) reduce heat absorbed by water vapour in the air, hence reduce temperature increment

b) possibly overcome future problem of water shortage...

Farsighted, right? 😕

But the near problem is

- there would be not enough water drops to form cloud or such...

- The temperature would be  hotter, plants would have no rain water, human found ground drinking water or water in reservoires depleting fast and such..... 😯

😣

Yes, it is very complex. Atmospheric H2O is by far the predominant greenhouse gas, but also creates clouds which have a "shade" effect, one heats and the other cools. Very complex. The interaction between atmospheric H2O and particulates creates shading and cooling, whereas the reduction of available particulates causes direct solar impacts to increase heating.

The effects of the combined solar and H2O impacts are the principal drivers of climate change, and atmospheric CO2 is actually an insignificant contributor.

"Abstract. In this paper we will prove that GCM-models used in IPCC report AR5 fail to calculate the influences of the low cloud cover changes on the global temperature. That is why those models give a very small natural temperature change leaving a very large change for the contribution of the green house gases in the observed temperature. This is the reason why IPCC has to use a very large sensitivity to compensate a too small natural component. Further they have to leave out the strong negative feedback due to the clouds in order to magnify the sensitivity. In addition, this paper proves that the changes in the low cloud cover fraction practically control the global temperature."

Letting in more cosmic rays and more clouds formation at a 5% decrease per decade currently... https://www.livescience.com/46694-magnetic-field-weakens.html

Feel free to doubt the statement.

I know its not your statement but things like that make me a non believer.  A modern day analogue thermometer has an accuracy of 1 to 2 degrees.  I presume this must be more accurate than a tree otherwise there would be not point making them.  So the input data - trees and analogue thermometers have an input accuracy to 1 to 2 degrees but after modelling the out put accuracy is 0.2 degrees.  How scientific is that!

This thread is broken, like the people that post to it.   It should be taken down.  The earth is dying from the oil companies.  Their profits need to be taken to support Green solutions, and those that spew lies need to go to jail. The only solution is public transportation across the world and that window has long passed.  Welcome to hell on earth.

I can understand your doubt of the accuracy of NASA data.

I hope this helps...
