Research has not demonstrated that tire emissions are 1,000 times worse than exhaust emissions. The claim that tire emissions are 1,000 times worse than exhaust emissions is based on the flawed and unscientific suggestion that comparing the weight of different emission types provides a measure of the relative risk that they pose. The assertion that tire emissions are “1,000 times worse” than exhaust emissions is sensationalist and disingenuous. It is a misrepresentation of an Emissions Analytics claim that the weight of tire-wear emissions are 1,000 times greater than exhaust emissions per kilometer driven. To the admission of Emissions Analytics’ chief executive, this figure comes from a test performed on a car driven in such a way as to maximize tire emissions (“driven as crazily as you could, really pushed it”). Driving style is known to be the main factor of tire wear (Le Maitre et al., 1998), but the extreme measures adopted by Emissions Analytics are not representative of normal driving and would result in a tire lifespan of not more than 500km. Your attempt to challenge the results is rather transparent. Take a look at the source, which is what any normal challenge would involve. It is a tire production promotions company. https://tireindustryproject.org/ "Tires keep the worldmoving Explore how the Tire Industry Project and our members are driving sustainability in the tire value-chain." PM2.5 is defined by size of the particles not the chemical composition. The pollution is already fully classified and now being regulated. Research shows that fine particulates are toxic regardless of what they are made of. The PM2.5 can be ash, coal dust, road dust, black carbon, etc. it is all toxic. Go China! https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Chinas-Coal-Imports-Jumped-to-a-Record-High-in-September.html "Chinese imports of coal surged to a monthly high in September, driven by increased consumption and falling international coal prices. China imported last month a total of 47.59 million metric tons of coal, a 13% increase from September 2023, data from the country’s General Administration of Customs showed on Monday." "China’s electricity output from thermal sources – which are predominantly coal-fired – increased by 3.7% in August compared to the same month last year, according to official Chinese data cited by Reuters columnist Clyde Russell." Total global oil demand is thus expected to average 105.8 million bpd next year. It's still going up. Oil will be over 100 million bpd for the next 10 years. Opec's forecasts are rarely on target. As for electric cars reaching a tipping point, your correct, my prediction is it has topped out unless the governments world wide subsidize the end sale of them. They aren't as popular as last year.

Do you read any of the the articles discussing falling oil demand? Next year there will be more EVs produced and on the road ("it's still going up") but you will say that there is falling demand. Next year there will be more oil produced and you will say that is increased demand despite the decreased desirability and long-term forecast of oil. Unlike OPEC, the EVs manufactures are not banding together to create artificial scarcity via orchestrated supply cuts.
