Not relevant at all...your EVs are failing badly and going down, no one wants them.

That always figured to be a mere niche market, and so it is.

Yup.  Sanity is somewhat rare these days.

Particularly in Florida.  They are gonna have to spend big $ to improve the electrical distribution system.

Right now, some of it is a "patch it up" job, and we'll return later to fix it proper.

Sounding like trump there.

You think a Trump election win will help or hurt EVs after Musk bought him?

Do you know that Occidental petroleum, that Buffett went long on, business model is based on carbon credit profits?  Are you a better at predicting the economy than Warren Buffett?  Do you think a super rich investor might have some powerful lobbyists manipulating policy?  Gates is all for it too.

The richest people in the USA want EVs and carbon credits.

How is that oil price doing?

"So much demand. Huge, huge demand.  They lie, they lie.  Oil is doing great. You should see all the oil.  You have never seen oil like this."

Maybe when they replace all the storm damage they will learn and improve.  However, it is Florida so I doubt it.

only in you and your pal old dickheads trailer parks are EV sales failing badly and going down....

then again when you buy old clunkers to begin with.......and piss away your whole allowance on putting a few gallons in the tank, buying a modern vehicle produced in the last few years is just not going to happen , is it? ... I do understand why you would be so jealous of those that are stepping up and dumping clunkers for EV's and try to paint EV sales as failing badly. It is natural that Luddites will try to downplay new Tech and how it is so much better than your Clunker world.

then there is reality

everywhere else EV sales are picking up speed........and have you seen the price of them recently......many models under $20,000....with great ranges of over 250 miles and batteries that can be recharge to 90 percent in less than 30 minutes....

oh my   as the price goes down on EVs what do you think will happen to sales???? you got an Econ degree????? Give us some insight on how it works ....price goes down and sales go.......??????

Clunker sales have peaked and now are heading downhill....escpecially in light of the fact that new EVs are cheaper than new clunkers......

How is that oil demand Hot and gettting Hotter????

I keep seeing downward revisions in demand these days ........Looks like your Demand is getting hotter was all  based on China ???...How  is that working out for you now?????? .hmmm not looking like China is betting their future on clunkers anymore.  And China is the number one New car market.....oh that has to hurt your Luddite thinking

The only thing you have left is you are hoping for war to support the price??????? Maybe Vlad can throw you some bones???? or your pals in Saudi???? maybe they can cut production again??????....Musical chairs is all you have left

Global EV sales up 30.5% in September as China shines ...

It is "rare" to use electricity for those purposes for a very good reason...rationality.

Save money.

Very simple.

Ever notice when there's a large amount of agreement over "something", it begins to resemble the truth?

Greater than 99% consensus on human caused climate change in the peer-reviewed scientific literature

Abstract

While controls over the Earth's climate system have undergone rigorous hypothesis-testing since the 1800s, questions over the scientific consensus of the role of human activities in modern climate change continue to arise in public settings. We update previous efforts to quantify the scientific consensus on climate change by searching the recent literature for papers sceptical of anthropogenic-caused global warming. From a dataset of 88125 climate-related papers published since 2012, when this question was last addressed comprehensively, we examine a randomized subset of 3000 such publications. We also use a second sample-weighted approach that was specifically biased with keywords to help identify any sceptical peer-reviewed papers in the whole dataset. We identify four sceptical papers out of the sub-set of 3000, as evidenced by abstracts that were rated as implicitly or explicitly sceptical of human-caused global warming. In our sample utilizing pre-identified sceptical keywords we found 28 papers that were implicitly or explicitly sceptical. We conclude with high statistical confidence that the scientific consensus on human-caused contemporary climate change—expressed as a proportion of the total publications—exceeds 99% in the peer reviewed scientific literature.

While I agree with this consensus, an appeal to majority is a logical error.

There are many examples in history where a singe person was right and had to fight back against the majority opinion.

you do not need science papers to convince everyone that global warming is real and man-made.

September has been one hot month, one for the records  and October????? no need to get the boiler turned back on ............Maybe will fire it up on the 1st of November????? No frost in sight........

only question is how much longer do we need to run the sprinklers to keep the grass from getting scorched and to keep the tree roots moist so the trees will make it through the winter........Leaves have not even started to fall of the trees.......

And for those living in Phoenix.............

The "identification" of those papers uses simply a selection of words which are not specific as to the findings of the research, so that is not a good methodology.

But this is not how science works, science is not a show of hands or a count of loyalty, it is a testing ground for hypotheses.

Whenever this type of count is done, it is nothing to do with actual research, but rather political exercise to try and squeeze some headlines for a point of view.

In real science, there are no points of view.

climate change is a result of long-term changes in weather patterns...........

so when do you think the annual weather we have now will revert back to the weather of the 1970's or the 1870's ??? any day now?????

weather patterns (IE hot and getting hotter every year)  is induced by burning of coal and oil use on a massive scale

so to your babble about it is just the weather................well the weather patterns is hot and getting hotter everywhere in the world

and the result of this hot and getting hotter is drought , glacier and ICE pack dissappeance, sea levels rising , bigger and more hurricanes the list goes on and on and on...no shortage of scientific studies on the matter.

Ask any one in Florida today and they blame the intense hurricanes on????

You mean, if you believe that "weather" is actually "climate change", then it must be? That is some powerful logical extension.

Just don't let a climate scientist hear you say that.

Weather is not climate, however, the frequency of rare weather events can be used to measure the climate.

Insurance companies have tables of how often certain events should happen.  If a one-in-a-100-year weather event starts happening much more frequently than than one in a hundred years that is evidence of climate change.

Out of curiosity I asked chat GPT "How many people in the USA have a net worth over one million?"

Chat GPT responded:

"As of 2023, approximately 24.5 million individuals in the United States have a net worth of over $1 million, according to data from Credit Suisse's Global Wealth Report and other financial studies. This number includes those whose assets, such as real estate, investments, and savings, exceed $1 million, minus any liabilities like mortgages or debts.

This group represents about 8-9% of the adult population in the U.S., making the United States home to the largest number of millionaires in the world."

By subtraction the net worth of non-millionaires is over 90%...these are the folks who will be dependent on fossil fuel cars going forward.
