Belgium, which boasts about a thriving off-shore wind farms that generate 10% of its electricity needs, is coming up with innovative methods to deal with the unpredicable nature of wind pattern and speed. In addition, the companies involved are to introduce floating platforms to erect the wind turbines. However, they are aware of mounting challenges ahead in pursuit of ambitious climatic goals.

Belgium, which boasts about a thriving off-shore wind farms that generate 3% of its electricity needs, is coming up with innovative methods to deal with the unpredicable nature of wind pattern and speed. Correction: off shore wind meets 10% of their needs (they say it in the video) and they are starting the next phase which will double the capacity.

Belgium is set to produce 10% of its electricity demand from offshore wind in 2021 following the commissioning of two projects in its waters last year,

with installed capacity soon planned to double with the implementation of a new development zone.

https://ieefa.org/offshore-wind-expected-to-meet-10-of-belgiums-electricity-needs-in-2021/#:~:text=Belgium now boasts 2.26 GW,of only about 65 km.
