Likewise, later booming wells could last longer............

On the other hand, when I was young, everything was built within walking distance, regardless if it takes 5 minutes or 15 minutes or more. If we give people no other possible option but to walk or cycle......... would there be a day when we yell "Long live fossil fuel! Long live fossil fuel!!" ....??? It's environmentally friendly, climate friendly, user friendly, weight lose friendly, healthcare budget friendly etc.......... no? 😈 😈 😈

Well as of 3  July 2021 TTF NG summer prices in Europe are highest from 2008.

12,5 $ per mmbtu according to oilprice.com.

Some sources says that if Nord Stream II is not launched this year we might have potential lack of something like 20 bilion cubic meters this winter in Europe.

This is a direct result of rejecting coal and nuclear power both at the some time.

You need NG - in Poland currently producing electricity from coal would be about 3 times cheaper than from NG.

But we have Co2 limits so having about 90 % of european coal reserves we currently have electricity more expensive than Germany although people in Poland earn 3 times less than Germans.

It may be to early to count nuclear out. I just don’t know enough about how successful the new tech is going to be concerning cost, waste and safety. It seems better prototypes are on the way. Small modular plug in plants seems potentially popular in the mid future.

That might be seen as a reasonable outcome, particularly when Insurance companies either refuse to issue economic coverage to fossil fuel firms, and investors refuse to issue any economic credit.  Prices for fossil fuels will rise to the point of harming the as-built economy for a decade or three.

Many USA firms already find themselves involved in firmer and more frequent lawsuits.  Particularly if those firms were well aware of what could happen by their own internal investigations.  This behavior did not work out well for Tobacco, Inc. or Asbestos, Inc.

In the interim, perhaps we can fuel some vehicles with waste plastics?

In the end, an EV recharged with fossil fuel resources might make a small dent in emissions.  It's a move in the right direction.  It ain't enough.

In the longer perspective, the new science will be recognized and CO2 will no longer be regarded as a "pollutant". Oil demand will continue to grow.

Can you expand on that?

Sure, the new school of solar science has demonstrated that CO2 is not related to global warming/cooling....that is big news.
