Has Time For Coal Passed?

Even with new renewables record in Germany, coal is still on royal throne. The coal price is at the highest level since 2013 and it still has the main influence on German power prices.

The renewables  need much more land area than coal and they are also more expensive and sometimes unreliable. It is only good for rich countries. And what about poor countries.

China will definitely lead the way in killing coal, and Beijing is doing it very aggressively--to the point that it's forcing tons of households in the north to switch to natural gas, and they now have a bit of a supply problem.

Yes China has been slowing use of coal over the past 2 years but still expecting to use it for substantial electricity use in the future.

Assuming that the world will turn to renewable and natural gas, IEA predicts end of coal  in the next 25 year.
