Most Meaningless Oil Law of the Year

France has passed a law banning oil and gas exploration. Wow. The country produces just 1% of what it consumes in oil. But they're very proud of it. Is it me or is it really ridiculous?

The French are a very proud nation, what else to say. Although with this decision there will be a lot of changes in this country regarding oil production. 1% is 1%. Big deal.

At this point almost everything is spinning around climate change. And it is important to say "I was the first" even though it was just 1%.

It can only be perceived as important by those who ignore the fact there is no substance to the bold move. They'll just import more. On a global scale, no difference. Oh, wait, people do tend to ignore stuff like that... I fear you may be right.
