From buyer and political point of view, EU is going to lose if it stops Nordstream and Russia will remain unaffected as it will get its gas revenues regardless

What NATO will do (and U.S. will pay for as in an additional $30 billion/year to defend Europe) is build/increase and man military bases in all the former Soviet states that joined NATO (Poland, Romania, Hungry, Balkans, etc).

I think Putin will consider that a win with Ukraine.  I think he knows attacking a NATO member could not be ignored at this time.  Maybe sometime in the future after Russia, China and Germany weaken the United States even more. 

(NOTE: Germany is much closer to Russia and China than they are to the U.S.   Germany is the only EU economy that counts )

This military base idea seems far fetched. There are plenty of weapons that are high tech and long range. You should scroll through the Air Force sometime. It’s free to see.

The one sanction that would have produce the greatest damage to Russia's economy would be kick Russia off of the Banking Transaction System called SWIFT.  Germany told Biden ," don't you dare".  Biden backed down. 

Markets comeback shows the smart money thinks this whole Ukraine situation won't be that bad.

When the Fox Whitehouse correspondent asked Biden about the affect of a long lasting conflict Biden responded, " This won't last long".  He actually said that.

So day one Russia attacks from Belarus in the North, Kursk in the North, Crimea in the South and Donbas in the East.

Haven't heard much about the thrust from Donbas in the east ??? Quiet on the Eastern front.  That is because the Ukrainian army have dug in West of Donbas to thwart the Russians Eastern push.. 

The Ukrainian forces dug in West of Donbas is the Ukrainian version of the "Marginot Line" .  Ukraine has committed the major portion of their military in this massive deployment.  Russia is patient.  They're not stupid.  

All these troops committed are now preoccupied in Eastern Ukraine.  They're not in the South or North. Russia will take the South, North, Kyiv Capital and replace the Zelenskyy government .  They will then fight Ukraine's  "Marginot Line" from all sides, plus heavy artillery and Russian Airforce if the Ukrainian's are still up for a fight.
