What Russia is doing is similar to the Monroe Doctrine. Unilaterally declaring parts of the world under their sphere of influence. Trump, of course, is a fan.

https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-73rd-session-united-nations-general-assembly-new-york-ny/

"It has been the formal policy of our country since President Monroe that we reject the interference of foreign nations in this hemisphere and in our own affairs."

-Trump to UN

Sound exactly like something Putin would say.   'We don't care what the rest of the world thinks about our chunk of the globe.'

Accept that support of Trump is support of Putin style "diplomacy."

Trump, ya got to hate him, or be a hypocrite.

Monroe's doctrine is outdated. Uncle Sam's official sphere of influence is everywhere.

Yet another bit of "Russian disinformation" turns out quite informational, after all.

I bet nothing will happen, because US and Ukraine, two of the world's corruptest regimes, are both involved.

Ukraine Conflict Leads to Largest US Military Buildup in Europe in Years

By Jack Phillips

March 17, 2022 Updated: March 17, 2022

There are currently 100,000 U.S. troops in Europe, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed this week.

During a news conference with Germany’s minister of foreign affairs on Thursday and during a news conference with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, Stoltenberg confirmed the number of U.S. troops in Europe amid the war in Ukraine.

“We are reinforcing our collective defense. Hundreds of thousands of troops on heightened alert—100,000 U.S. troops in Europe,” he said Wednesday, according to a Department of Defense transcript. “And then 40,000 troops under the NATO command … the most in the eastern part of the alliance supported by naval and air forces.” Continued at above site.

"Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of expansionist foreign powers.

It has been the formal policy of our country since President Monroe that we reject the interference of foreign nations in this hemisphere and in our own affairs."

Here is his ACTUAL quote you carefully edited out.... Let me put in the intro and the ACTION taken in BOLD....

"Ultimately, the only long-term solution to the migration crisis is to help people build more hopeful futures in their home countries. Make their countries great again.

Currently, we are witnessing a human tragedy, as an example, in Venezuela. More than 2 million people have fled the anguish inflicted by the socialist Maduro regime and its Cuban sponsors.

Not long ago, Venezuela was one of the richest countries on Earth. Today, socialism has bankrupted the oil-rich nation and driven its people into abject poverty.

Virtually everywhere socialism or communism has been tried, it has produced suffering, corruption, and decay. Socialism’s thirst for power leads to expansion, incursion, and oppression. All nations of the world should resist socialism and the misery that it brings to everyone.

In that spirit, we ask the nations gathered here to join us in calling for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela. Today, we are announcing additional sanctions against the repressive regime, targeting Maduro’s inner circle and close advisors."

To people with an IQ smaller than their shoe size.... sanctions are an invasion.... Pure Genius🔥🤡

Just one thought. I am a grandfather, little girls grandchildren are my world. Two days ago I witnessed a little blond girl look into the camera. Her eyes stared, you don't love me. And she bowed her head and cried.

I will never forget that moment, if it was within my capacity I simply would crush the heart of Putin with my hand whispering in his ear burn in hell.

It's a big world bud, it just became much smaller and very personal for me.

Russia expands laws criminalizing ‘fake news’

https://www.politico.eu/article/russia-expand-laws-criminalize-fake-news/

Russian lawmakers on Tuesday dramatically toughened “fake news” laws, in the Kremlin’s latest move to crack down on domestic dissent amid its ongoing war on Ukraine.

The new laws, approved by lawmakers in the state Duma, Russia’s lower house of parliament, threaten those who “knowingly” spread so-called false information about all Russian state bodies operating abroad with fines of 1.5 million rubles (around €13,000) and prison sentences of up to 15 years.

The move, which affects discussion of the Russian Guard, Russian embassies, the Prosecutor’s office and other state, military, law enforcement and judicial bodies, comes during a wider Russian state clampdown on opposition amid broad Western condemnation of the war on Ukraine.

More than 15,000 Russians were detained between February 24 and March 20 for protesting against the lethal invasion of Ukraine, according to data from monitoring group OVD-Info.

Unlike in the West, there is some standard of proof to this law.

So far, there only have been fines. The chick who displayed some antiwar poster doing life telecast got fined 30,000 rubles, even though she did qualify for the maximum (abuse of professional position clause)

Ever heard about the brave woman who did the same on Ukrainian TV? Her poster said Ze should lay off coke and capitulate to save civilian lives? We'll probably never hear from her again, as she has her limbs broken by SBU. I can't even find any trace of her using English Google. Everybody is raving about "brave Russian anti-war protester" who interrupted a TV show, not about the Ukrainian one, who's in any actual trouble.

I cannot bear the vile, duplicitous nature of the West anymore. Why do you rule the world, despicable animals?

Andrei, Putin has been the worst commander in chief in history to my knowledge. He has started a war that he has turned the whole world against him. Even his few allies do not speak for their people even in Russia itself. He has been a disaster for Russia with his fascist crony capitalism and his military has proven to be unable to capture major cities. His people continue to suffer in poverty and now die in Ukraine. His military troops and equipment are destroyed daily by brave Ukrainian infantry now supplied by its allies. His only hope is to destroy everything in Ukraine while further harming his own people and nation. He has shown what the Russian Bear really is. It is a fascist nation no different than that under Stalin whose wins were over nations already destroyed by Hitler. He is outdoing Stalin in destruction of a nation while losing to its brave men and women. A nation one third the population of Russia.

It isn't socialism that did it, but US economic embargo. Which is traditionally understood to be the same as declaration of war.

Just like Putin, Trudeau hates protesters, truckers, anybody who stands up against him and uses any and all tactics to take away their livelihood, savings and freedom. Don't throw shade when you are standing neck deep in it a support it. One thing Putin does have and Trudeau doesen't is BALLS! Hiding from the Trucker convoy was such a cowardly move. Not that I condone what Putin has done in the least, Putin would at least standup up to such a display instead of leaving town.

How do sanctions restore democracy? Hmm?  They don't.

Even with all the other pro-Putin quotes you still turn a blind eye to trumps evil You lie to yourself because of internal conflict.

No rebuttal for "Savvy peacekeeper" or "Genius" "or "We could use this on our southern border."

Find anywhere that Trudeau praised Putin.   I can easily find several for Trump.

The USA restricted truckers freedom just as much if not more.  Canada had no ability to change that law.

Trudeau had the balls to tell the silly truckers to go F* themselves.  Not caving to unreasonable pressures is actually leadership.  Trump caved to everything.

Oh and how did that trucker protest work out?  Yep one more fail from the alt-right.

Keep failing!

Worry about your domestic problems.

In other news the NDP agreed to back the Liberals so now Trudeau essentially has a majority government.  Watch the left win even more!  Democracy is a bitch for the cult / at-right who can't find a decent leader let alone win.

But nice try with the whataboutism.  No rebuttal for trumps comments from the cult.

So, you know zilch about Venezuela and its descent into despotism.  Had nothing to do with sanctions and started long long long before 2016.

And no, telling another nation they cannot use  YOUR economy is not war.  Go for it, use whatever world currency you wish to use.  Just not ours.

Putin, has some good points about said conflict.  The way he went about obtaining results is to be questioned.  Is he ruthless and despotic?  Sure.  So?  Get off your ass and go make Russia a democracy and a glorious utopia.  In the real world, you have to praise scum sometimes to get what you want or push them into a corner or because you are pushed into a corner.  Welcome to the real world where unicorn farts do not power prosperity.

Putin is not despotic at all. He's considered a rather moderate and indecisive politician at home. His tough guy image is entirely a projection of your media.

Why should I help make Russia more of a "democracy", a system I abhor? You are obviously demonstrating it being nothing but a crazed lynching mob. I don't want to be ruled by a lynched mob of crazed zombies programmed by the media, regardless how large a majority they constitute.

I think I know plenty. Venezuela has way more democratic procedures than it can afford. A lot more than the USA, actually.

Things like hijacking Iranian tankers going to Venezuela at high seas, freezing their Central Bank reserves including gold and simply stealing a bunch of other properties of theirs is also "using your economy" US is nothing but a criminal syndicate, really.
