Recommended Posts

U.S. launches WTO challenge against retaliatory tariffs imposed by Canada, China, the EU, Mexico and Turkey. Argues these tariffs 'are completely without justification under international rules,' whereas tariffs laid by U.S. were related to national security. Seems like WTO is fairly busy lately.....

“Sixteen times the U.S. complained to the WTO that China was violating trade agreements on products like metals, chicken, aircraft, corn, wheat, and rice. The WTO agreed, all 16 times.” And what real effect did those 16 WTO wins have?  Nothing has changed...

It's a good news. The bad news is the WTO usually takes 2 years to rule - and then sometimes China just tweaks its policies, and the U.S. has to appeal to the WTO all over again.....

And in a classic Donald irony, the WTO judge system is about to collapse because the USA blocks every appointment. Historically the ruling large come in our favor.

In computing a denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) is a cyber-attack in which the perpetrator seeks to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connected to the Internet. Denial of service is typically accomplished by flooding the targeted machine or resource with superfluous requests in an attempt to overload systems and prevent some or all legitimate requests from being fulfilled.

With all this daily new complaints combined with the blocking of the appointments, the WTO will soon be overburdened. A kind of legal denial-of-service attack ?
