Is Wind Power Viable Without Tax Credits?

Recommended Posts

All renewable projects require either government regulation or subsidies/tax credits to get off the ground. The equipment has certainly become cheaper over the years, but the problems of integrating electricity from intermittent sources onto a grid that has to be run at the same voltage and frequency 24/7 remain. However, the article linked is chiefly interesting because the residents did not want either the wind farm or the associated high voltage lines. One of the major problems of intermittent energy has been in connecting up often remote projects with high voltage lines. It is surprising that not more has been said about this..
