New U.S. sanctions against Iran took effect on Tuesday, and President Donald Trump, who defied Washington’s allies to impose them, pledged that firms doing business with Tehran would be barred from doing business with the United States.Iran dismissed a last-minute offer from the Trump administration for talks, saying it could not negotiate while Washington had reneged on a 2015 deal to lift sanctions in return for curbs on Iran’s nuclear program. Trump decided this year to pull out of the agreement, ignoring pleas from the other world powers that had co-sponsored the deal, including Washington’s main European allies Britain, France and Germany, as well as Russia and China. The European countries have promised to try to mitigate the impact of renewed U.S. sanctions to persuade Tehran to continue to abide by the deal’s terms. But that has proven difficult: European companies have pulled out of Iran, arguing that they cannot risk the prospect of damage to their U.S. business.

Iranian regime must be stopped, but that process has to be result of deal between allies, not one country. And furthermore, I doubt that not even a penny of $150b deal has spent on Iranian people.

I see two segments and two potential risk of those sanctions:
- sanctions hurt the younger people who were our hope to make regime change. They are the only light in Iranian darkness.  
- driving a deeper wedge between U.S  and Europe is spending energy. EU is U.S. long standing allies. And, of course, all of this will weaken that relationship....

September 11 was a tragedy.

Years after that USA imposes harsh sanctions on Iran and and make huge arm deal with Saudi Arabia. I see no links between Iran and World Trade Center.  People from SA were deeply engaged in this act of terror

In Syrian War islamic fighters were  good  for USA as moderate rebels and Assad was a bad hero. But in Afghanistan and Iraq they were bad. In war with Soviet union there were good.

Iranian Guards of revolutions is terrorist organization from 2007 but when they helped to defend Baghdad in 2014 against ISIS they were good. In 2018 they are terrorist organization again. In 2014 Iran was a defender of Iraq and Baghdad and in 2018 its threat for Iraq  national security.

ISIS is very bad in Iraq but not so bad in Syria.

Hussein was good on the north with Iran but a dictator on the south with  Kuwait a couple years later. He simply should have read maps more often and everything would be OK.

NATO is at war with islamic fighters in Afghanistan.

Maybe sometimes personally the same people that fought both in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and at the end in Syria during their military life. 

A true islamic family of  fighters -father was in Afghanistan during war with Soviet Union. A son fought in Iraq or Afghanistan with USA. A grandson is in Syria and fights with iranian troops. But year ago he was in Iraq and fought with Iraqi Army. When he fights in Syria we call him moderate fighter but 500 kilometers eastward he is a terrorist

Islamic Chechens were fighting for independence. They were good for West and terrorists for Russia. After Dubrovka they were terrorist for whole world. A couple of years later half of them were still terrorists for Russia but the second half were a group of the best russian soldiers after a agreement between  Kadyrov and Putin. They fought in Georgia, Ukraine and finally in Syria. So russian Chechens a truly islamic nation fought with other islamic fighters for the glory of christian Russia. But a couple of thousands islamic fighters are citizens of Russia sometime christian or atheist who converted to Islams. Now they are good but if agreementis broken and they changed their minds they  can be once again a terrorists for Russia and freedom fighters for the West. For the time being they are also in famous or infamous Wagner group currently for example in Africa.  The second part of chechen fighters lets called the bad one or terrorists are doing the same -fighting for money. And most interesting thing is they sometimes are members of one big chechen family - one brother is in Russian Army, the second one in Wagner Group and the third one doesnt accept young Kadyrov so we will call him a terrorist= all of them do the same .  Fourth brother is very weird = he would like to go to work not fight for money. Because Chechens as a nation are very, very  good soldiers but they are unfortunately not very good in normal civil life. Something like Gurkhs in brittish army.

So maybe if Osama bin Laden would be still alive  he might be one day a reliable partner for USA or another country?

Its of course insulting but history is full of paradoxes.

Its geopolitics nothing personal but that\s insane.
