Will Solar Capacity Overtake Nuclear Energy in 2018?

Solar still generates less electricity than nuclear but it's growing rapidly. According to experts growth rates and cost reductions for solar have far exceeded projections. On the other side, high costs, slow construction and competitive renewable alternatives are causing the global nuclear industry to falter.

Enter Saudi Arabia, which plans to become a major nuclear energy producing country within the next five years or so. Solar overtaking nuclear doesn't sound half bad but next year sounds too early.
