Poland receives 40th shipload of LNG

Poland's marine LNG terminal on the Baltic has received its 40th hefty cargo of LNG on September 5th, demonstrating the resolve of the Polish natural gas company to distance itself from Russian supplies.  Here is the big tanker, with its cargo from Qatar:

The operator stated they intend to take multiple loads of gas also from the USA.  Looks like the Poles are totally serious about using LNG as a substitute for piped Russian gas. 

“We continue our strategy based on diversifying sources of natural gas and we are building a portfolio of contracts for deliveries of LNG. We are in the process of concluding agreements with American suppliers for a further several billion cubic meters, which will be at our disposal starting from 2022. We will be able to bring it to Poland or sell it anywhere in the world,” he added. ["He" being Piotr Woźniak, President of the Management Board of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG SA)].

Yup, sure are, and given that the Poles took a huge kicking, it is very much in their minds.  I rather doubt the Poles think back fondly on the War and the Occupation by the Russians.  Unpleasant days, they were.
