Tesla  has signed a supply agreement with China’s biggest lithium producer Ganfeng Lithium, who recently signed a massive supply agreement with LG Chem. 

A new deal to supply lithium-hydroxide to Tesla is starting this year up to 2020 with the option to extend the contract by 3 years and should reportedly cover about a fifth of Tesla's lithium needs.
