Amazon Goes Big on Solar

Amazon is set to install solar panels at its fulfillment centers across the U.K. The panels will have an installed capacity of 20 MW. Amazon said it expected the panels to generate the equivalent amount of electricity required to power over 4,500 U.K. homes and additionally, to cut the company’s carbon footprint by 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. 

Amazon plans to initially deploy large scale rooftop solar systems at 10 of its U.K. fulfillment centers over the next 18 months.
