Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas), the largest natural gas distribution utility in the United States, has launched a SoCalGas Truck Loan Program – a“try before you buy” service. The program allows qualified fleet owners the opportunity to try out the latest in heavy-duty natural gas truck technology by test driving a 12-Liter near-zero truck.

Do you think that cleaner air for cities plagued by air pollution warrants the switch to cleaner truck engines?

Seems the ICE truck manufactures that were laughing at the idea of electric trucks are now having to try allsorts of  tricks to get companies to keep with them as they see that electric trucks are coming soon.

Natural gas trucks have been around for decades. I can't imagine any large electric truck being competitive with a natural gas truck. Maybe you can back that up. I am aware that there are small electric trucks in production and experimental versions of large trucks.

My guess is that the original cost of an EV would pay for the investment compared to CNG or LNG trucks. We will have to wait and see real eighteen wheeler electric trucks. Hybrid electrics would be a better bet. Charge as you go.

The EV world is rapidly changing as cost's fall and range increases. Tesla's soon to be semi has been laughed at by the industry and by others (as they have with all his products, which seem to be doing very well), but it's never a wise man that bets against Musk.
