Fire in Gas Line causes Mass Power Outages in Nigeria

Not like anyone would notice. Many parts of Nigeria are without power on a regular basis.

What is Nigeria's problem with dealing with its failing infrastructure and unrest in the Niger Delta? They are constantly plagued with numerous issues that their oil wealth should theoretically shield them from.

Anyone care to comment on what the underlying problem is?

the oil wealth is for the big oil companies producing it and the handful of officials lining their pockets with it. There will never be peace here until the oil works for the people, but as soon as they protest they are labeled 'militants', or a militant group hijacks the natural protest movement.
