Installing auto-dimmers on street lamps to save energy is Norway's patent. This is an experimental phase and the project refers an eight-kilometre stretch of highway near Oslo.When the roadway is empty, the lights dim to about 20 per cent brightness. Approaching cars, pedestrians and bicycles trigger radar sensors causing the LED lampos to suddenly illuminate to 100 per cent.
